Experience with SBI Rupay-JCB Debit Card

As my SBI MC Platinum card was close to expiry, I felt the need to look for a better card. Aftet reading @Abhishek012's post regarding SBI Rupay-JCB DC and the features it was offering, decided to go for it.

SBI Rupay-JCB card cannot be applied online, so had to visit the branch for it. So, I made visit to this branch for the first time. The branch looked like it was older than me. I felt I was back in the 80s. The branch belonged to State Bank of Patiala before its merger with SBI.

The overall process was smooth. The staff were polite. Things have started to improve lately in public sector banks. Even though in the first attempt, they sent me Rupay Platinum, they admitted their fault and helped me get the right card this time.

Got the card after 5 days delivered by India Post. The design is average though.

Got it primarily due to zero forex charges.

Which Card ? i mean SBI RuPay JCB Debit card or you used any other bank RuPay JCB Card ?

people have had a good experience with POS transactions in the USA, Europe, Middle East, and Asia.

Everyone has mentioned having a good experience with ATM withdrawals in Asia and the Middle East.

don't understand why you want to use debit card in Pos transaction ? most of the pos has skimmer in other country also it's won't need pin for pos transaction so you will loses all of your money , it's always recommended use credit card so you can charge back for wrong transaction also you will get reward point.
coming back to second point I don't say it not accepted but but it's hard to find atm which don't charge any commission also accecpt that , like fro example in turkey zirat bank atm don't charge any fess apart from all the atm charges 8-20% of the withdrew amount also give very bad rate , so if you try those atm 2 out of 4 might accept Sbi jcb card but you will loose all the money , where zirat bank not accept this card face this issue in int airport as well.
like in bakgkok most of the lounge not accepting this card only had to find a lounge that accept diner.
so it's depend on the person to person for me I try to get value out of the card and don't want to spend to much time to try every atm as 3rd party atm ofter don't show the charge or write the charges very small that you miss, so when your in india rupy is king but outside india rupay is dead or you have to pay more to get the job done

Aur main yaha iss card ke chakkar me BM ko transfer karwane ki dhamki deke aa gya🤣😛

better get indus exclusive account for cash withdrow and for other forex like pos and online use good credit card that gives good valueback , also using card in pos and unknow websie is prett risky as it won't need otp or pin , but if your credit card comes with chareg back and theft insurace so you can relax , i face two time this issue but as it was credit card i chargebcak the ammount and bank take care the rest of the thing .

Okay, did this experience happen only in Turkey?

SBI Bank does not offer an international lounge, including SBI bank visa/mastercard.

it was tata nue infi rupay card for lounge access it's give 1 per qtr

I know that jcb is only accepted by bank of georgia.

I already had sbi JCB rupay card and most pf post suggest zero markup for forgein currency for this. I recently got SBI Rhodium ( Rupay) and I am unable to find markup for this card any where. @Abhishek012 please put some light on this. Is there any page like schedule of charges, which I am unable to find.

SBI bank business model is to open bank account for poor to rich people.

You will not get easily this type of info. Every banks have different/unique business model.

However, what I feel is that is part of feature offering. if some private banks Rupay JCB card had 0 markup, they would have placed big hoardings at prominent places and also in their website advertising that 😛. Here they have not mentioned any such thing. Now for Rhodium Rupay card, I need to know markup and there should be this information in their website easily available.

Has anyone used Rupay Rhodium ( on select platform) for foeign transactions. If yes, Can you please share markup charged.
