This is with reference to your complaint number NXXXX(RBI ombudsman compliant) filed at the Office of Banking Ombudsman regarding your HDFC Bank credit card account.
We note that you had raised concern toward Bank not issuing you with the Swiggy card as offered to other customers and has mentioned you had already held a Swiggy card earlier.
We wish to confirm that you had tried applying for the Swiggy card and had shared the error screenshot from the website informing that you had already applied for another card recently and cannot apply for another card now.
As per Bank records, we wish to confirm that you had availed a HDFC Bank Millennia credit card during April 2022 vide application#: XXX and had also availed the Rupay Biz UPI card during July 2024 vide application XXX.
We note that you had also applied for the HDFC Bank Swiggy Credit Card during July 2024 vide APPLICATION XXX.
We wish to confirm that the same was already cancelled as the card was not activated within 30 days. We note that you had heard about the new offers sent to eligible customers to apply for Swiggy card as LTF (Life Time Free) and have been trying to apply for the same and has been getting error.
We further note that you had approached Bank on October 31, 2024 and had shared the screenshot raising concern as to why Swiggy card is not being issued to you.
We note that the Bank had responded to you informing that currently Bank are not offering Swiggy as a Dual/Floater card. We further note that you had subsequently informed that you had previously applied for a Swiggy card and the same was approved by the Bank.
It is observed that any applications done from the Swiggy App, the Swiggy cards shall be issued as a Floater card and if the customer tries to apply for the same in Bank Website the same will be declined as Bank is not offering Swiggy card variants as Floater.
However, we note that you have been repeatedly approaching the Bank for the same. Upon receipt of the current representation, taking complete circumstances into consideration, approval taken to issue Swiggy card as Floater and also as LTF.
We had requested Sales Team to pick up the documents from your end along with the physical application to review the same for the issuance of Swiggy card as LTF which is subject to you meeting the other Internal Guidelines of the Bank.
We wish to confirm that the Application No : XXX was picked up by the Sales Manager on December 09, 2024 and the status of the same shall be informed to customer within 10 working days.
Basis above clarifications provided, we regret to accommodate toward your request for compensation.
