Great News - Now get the same rewards on RuPay CC UPI transactions as we get on Credit Card transactions

I request everyone to mail md desk of all banks with a copy of npci circular which says upi transactions should give same reward as online transactions without any discrimination. Still it has not been implemented. Bob eterna, bpcl octane are not giving any points on upi transactions while wealth and mayura give only upto 3x while online gives 10x. This is clearly discrimination against upi. I've attached the directive here

Banks operate on their own timeline. NPCI k bol dene se usi time ho jayega aisa kuch nahi hai.

IDFC's Digital RuPay variant is probably a different card.

Starting today, RBI's card network portability has gone live. How many banks have actually gone live will only be known from today.

Circular clearly says this is only when the bank earns interchange fees. So it is not applicable on zero MDR transactions, so not applicable on CC-over-UPI txns below Rs. 2000.

This also probably means that in the future, banks are going to complain about zero MDR for low value txns, and RuPay will introduce MDR for lower value txns too. But then, merchants could start refusing CC-over-UPI. It's going to be interesting.

Only small merchants - zero MDR on CC-over-UPI txns below Rs. 2000

Big merchants already pay MDR on all transactions including under Rs. 2000.

So no reward points irrespective of whether the amount is below ₹2000 or more than that, as most merchants usually disable CC when they incur MDR on UPI 🤡
