Hack to get Infinia Metal/DCB LTF

Is there a hack where we can submit account closing request for our credit cards (Infinia/DCB) that would then result in them giving us the card for LTF ? I've seen it work with SBI Credit Cards. Has anyone tried it ?

Looks like they have changed this recently.
im sure that i have seen the same like as mentioned in Infinia even of DCB page.
but still the spending requirement of 5L per year is pretty decent for DCB.

i couldn't get a copy of my Dad's DCB statement, where points equal to fee paid was credited.
If you get some source of confirmation, do please share in future. I am eager to know, if points are given back on renewal fee.

Latest update on this - I visited HDFC branch today (one of the biggest in Mumbai). For anyone to upgrade to Infinia, bank needs only 2 criteria to be fulfilled:
  1. Last 6 months spend = 7.5 Lakh
  2. Current HDFC CC limit = 8 Lakh and above
No need to have any minimum income or any other. The guy said he can upgrade my DCB immediately if I meet the criteria above.
This are right but I guess No:2 is 10 Lakhs, not 8.

Just got my father's DCB upgraded to Infinia Metal this week, his existing CL was 8.2lacs and last 6 months spends definitely did not cross 7.5lacs. So as always, it depends on a case-by-case basis.

That's great. The eligibility criteria is not always fixed, its looked upon on a case to case basis.
Can i know the approach take by you to get the upgrade?

I had mailed (hard copy) the card upgrade form to HDFC Cards Division in Chennai without any income docs. But they rejected it for 'signature mismatch'. Then I sent the same form (scanned copy) to grievanceredressal and then they upgraded it to Infinia Metal.

Signature mismatch is a regular thing with HDFC. They give this reason even if the signature is exactly same.
Worst part is that they are not ready to update your new signature too.

I am under negotiations with the Cluster head- Cards division for an upgrade to Infinia.
I will try the path mentioned by you if this doesn't work.

Can you please share the email content which you sent. Just a brief gist of it will suffice.

How much time it took for them to dispatch the card after you sent the mail to grievanceredressal?

I mentioned the lack of acceptance of Diners Club both in India and outside India when compared to Visa. Also mentioned about the lounge access problem I faced in DCB where me and another add-on holder were not able to access the same lounge together.

Yep, third time I had faced this issue. I had scanned the upgrade form before sending it to them via post and then sent that same scanned copy through grievanceredressal. But magically they accepted the soft copy without any problem 🤔 They want to make people waste money by posting documents to them again and again.
