Hack to get Infinia Metal/DCB LTF

Is there a hack where we can submit account closing request for our credit cards (Infinia/DCB) that would then result in them giving us the card for LTF ? I've seen it work with SBI Credit Cards. Has anyone tried it ?

Latest update on this - I visited HDFC branch today (one of the biggest in Mumbai). For anyone to upgrade to Infinia, bank needs only 2 criteria to be fulfilled:
  1. Last 6 months spend = 7.5 Lakh
  2. Current HDFC CC limit = 8 Lakh and above
No need to have any minimum income or any other. The guy said he can upgrade my DCB immediately if I meet the criteria above.
This is one valuable user feedback, but 7.5L for last 6 months maybe too much. Think they are only trying to generate more business out of you in exchange of Infinia lollypop.

Banks do get away with such things as people at times do their best to chase this illusion of a higher variant credit card and incur unnecessary expenses to attain them.

That is of course the first thing any business wants to do. More business from customers. But also not making it easy for upgrade for everybody.

The criteria mentioned has been in place since the launch of Metal Infinia. If you meet it, you can simply ask for Infinia to HDFC

If you meet this criteria, why would you settle with DCB. Infinia is any day better.

but still you get paid card, for ltf you need corporate tie ups with banks and you shd be head of that tie from the company, bm will do that after multiple approvals
No need to worry if DCB or Infinia is paid or LTF.
its almost always free.
Technically u only need to pay the GST charges, you will get the Card fee paid in terms of reward points.

As per my knowledge, correct me if I am wrong, In case of DCB. we don't get back equivalent reward point on paying fees (So you are paying full fee and getting nothing back). Only in Infinia, we get back equivalent reward points.(Only paying GST)

you do get points equal to the amount of annual fee paid.
This is true since when the fee was increased to 10k.

Do we get the points in case of DCB card?
Since on the hdfc website, it is not mentioned. can you please share the link or source, where it is mentioned that points are given back on paying annual fee in case of DCB. (https://www.hdfcbank.com/personal/pay/cards/credit-cards/diners-club-black)

Looks like they have changed this recently.
im sure that i have seen the same like as mentioned in Infinia even of DCB page.
but still the spending requirement of 5L per year is pretty decent for DCB.

i couldn't get a copy of my Dad's DCB statement, where points equal to fee paid was credited.
