HDFC bank account upgrade

I currently have a salary account standard account with HDFC. I went to the branch to upgrade my account to classic. However the representative told me that it would be better to open a new savings account instead of upgrading my salary account as it would have more benefits including a RM. I wanted to know if this is true and if I should actually open a new savings account. Wanted to understand the cons if any.
Update : I just confronted the representative. She then agreed saying there will be no difference in the benefits between salary and savings account. But the savings account won’t be downgraded easily if MAB isn’t maintained whereas a salary account will be downgraded within a month.
I could sense the BS and asked her to cancel my savings account application and she tore it in front of me🙂

email the customer service escalation team about this piece of information, along with the representative name who told you this and ask them if this is true. such behaviour should be reported, a few employees destroying the trust of an otherwise good bank.

Bank CS usually are prompt at handling these

Similar case happened at SBI and after the complaint, the branch manager themself called me in the evening (outside their working hours) and personally handled the account

Can i ask on email from customer care for classic upgrade or any other way?
 
I recently opened a max account, the branch employee was forcing me to open the preferred, but I asked her if she can open classic, then she told okay first I will open max and then I will upgrade it to classic, I have been calling her for now almost two weeks but she is saying that there's a server issue. She asked me to wait for some more time.
I don't think so she's going do that.

All they need is a cheque of 5 Lac

I guess you'll have to maintain for atleast 6 months

Maintain balance till you get invite
or ask for form to upgrade to classic banking and sign and submit.

These peoples only work for their self interest or if a complaint is raised.

Sab Paiso ka chakkar. He just wants you to open new account to achieve his sales target.

Salary account has better chances of getting upgraded but they are mapped to Virtual Services Team and not to single RM (unless you are Imperia).

Did the same to me. I had to raise a complaint against her, and only then did the BM called me, apologised, and then upgraded my account. Nothing changed though, still an awful bank with awful service.

I was about to open savings max account. After checking my posts I'm hesitant to do so. 😅
