DCB HDFC Diners Club Black Metal Credit Card

Just wondering why you didn't go for Infinia with this kind of spends. With good limit on your DCP and good spends you could have tried.
The upgrade offer for DCB was system generated for my account. Although I'd have preferred an Infinia over DCB due to diners acceptance issues however that would've meant chasing RM, dropping mail to CC team , sharing documents and what not. I presume , I might get Infinia offer automatically eventually on my account.

Got it. Btw, once you know that you meet the upgrade eligibility criteria for Infinia, simply connect with your RM. He will either send someone with the form to your place for your signatures or request you to visit the branch. Your branch/RM only usually dispatch these forms to their Chennai office. You'll then know in a couple of days the outcome.
Anyways, DCB is a great card to hold and I myself held is for a long time. It's acceptability in India is fine, US too but not in majority of Asian countries. Moreover, sometimes I felt Diners had a better lounge network then PP or Dragon Pass etc.

I'm getting an FYF upgrade DCB metal from my privilege card, is there any way to get it LTF? I'm not a frequent traveller and so I'm mostly focusing on the cashbacks. Also I'm not sure if i will reach the spend limit for annual fee waiver and so not taking the upgrade as of now.

Auto upgrade?
If yes - can you elaborate your relation ship?
1)what are your spends like?
2)your card age? and is it LTF

Yep, got the auto upgrade for the diners privilege which I'm holding for 4 years now which was also upgraded from clubmiles and rewards before that. I was not much into cc game and was just using one card but off-late for the past 5 to 6 months, i moved all my spends to tata-neu infinity and has been using the diners privilege only for BMS BOGO.

Any tricks to convert paid DCB metal in to LTF?
None direct. May be once you have huge spends on your card consistently, you can possibly arm twist them to convert your card to LTF. Write to Grievance or priority redressal team but you need to have a solid case and narrative. It's all give and take. They need to know that there's a huge business coming from you and losing you/business for an LTF wouldn't be worth it. Again even this may need follow-ups and would be either a hit or a miss (if they agree to let you go).

Hey all,
Is there any other card like DCB (Except Infinia) with similar fees but better in terms of rewards?
My DCB was LTF but will be forcefully converted to the metal paid version when it expires this year. So I'll have to pay the fees and there are nit rewards which are given against that.

Therefore, I'm wondering if I should close it and get something else in thru 5-10K fee range with potentially better rewards.

I current have a MRCC, Amex Gold Charge and Sapphiro as well.

Why do you think you will be forced to paid metal. I guess they are renewing plastic with plastic itself but for new users, metal is the only option. Still if you want a new card and is OK using for Accor, you may check Axis Atlas.

I think I read that HDFC is not giving out the PVC on renewals and only handing out the Metal variant to all folks (new and renewals both).

If this is wrong, I'll be pretty happy haha
