DCB HDFC Diners Club Black Metal Credit Card

On T&C page for welcome benefits and milestones for DCB Metal, the following has been mentioned. So I am optimistic that government transactions should be counted towards milestones as they have in DCB Plastic. Otherwise, it is a garbage offer for me.

Hi, were you able to figure out/ confirm if government transactions like adavnce tax/gst is considered towards annual spend (for fee waiver) and quarter spend (milestone benefits)?

It is considered for quarter spends for milestone benefits. I believe it should be counted towards annual spend by the same logic. P.S. use the card for Advance Tax but not for GST, GST is considered a business expenses and your card could be cancelled.

Thank you very much. Had not considered the last part at all as I am new to credit cards

I thought my wireless functionality in DCB metal is faulty in card and here I see you also facing problem. Will replacing card help. For me it never worked in last 15-20 attempts

If you're using HDFC Billpay portal, then it is not counting this payment in rent category, that's why you're getting the points. So if you use HDFC Billpay portal for both transactions, you'll get points and also not get 1% fees on either transaction. If you use RedGiraffe directly via DCB, you will not get points and also you'll have to pay 1% fees on second transaction.

Either way, the amounts for rent will be considered for milestones.
How to pay rent using hdfc bill desk?

We are all rushing for next best i.e. DCB Metal when Infinia Metal is not reachable. My doubt is by the time we will chase out those milestones to reach Infinia it will either be devalued further or may be more hurdles added 😛

I believe that tap-to-pay on the Diners' network is not seamless like it is on Visa / Mastercard / RuPay. Every single time I have tapped it, I have been asked for the PIN even though I have configured the contactless limit at Rs 5000 and the transaction amount is a few hundreds of rupees.

I think I found the hack for wireless/NFC pyment as I read somewhere to precisely tap the printed wireless signal on card on the machine.
It worked, now I am able to pay. It appears that metal blocks the nfc signal so only that window where wireless icon is printed touching that works.

I meet the new eligibility criteria for DCB metal, however no existing relation with HDFC.
How to get this card without opening savings account?
Applying via website always gives me DCB privilige.

I spent 10L in last 6 months, maintained total balance of 18L in savings account and 20L in FD. This was not through RM. I use HDFC for parking all my funds. Expecting further Limit enhancement in next few quarter
Just wondering why you didn't go for Infinia with this kind of spends. With good limit on your DCP and good spends you could have tried.
