Infinia HDFC Infinia Priority Pass Charged for Access in Domestic Indian Airports

No such intentions, my friend. Keep it going won't help me. My points were clear. There's no confirmation either ways from the bank in black & white while you insist on something while could be misleading for many.

This is with reference to your e-mail dated March 19, 2025 regarding Priority Pass.



For Lounge visits within India, you have to use Infinia credit card.

We would like to clarify that charges will not be applicable if already priority passes are used.



As per revised Terms and Conditions, Priority Pass can be used in outside India only.




1 - this is what they replied to me. now they haven't mentioned that charges will be applicable on PP domestic usage. Also they mention that if PP is already used, no charges will be charged. Now since they haven't specified any date till which no charges will be there, I think if we even use it, no charges will be applicable.
2 - I am not sure if HDFC will even know if the visit was domestic or international, since the PP allows access to both. Until they change the membership category, and remove domestic lounges from our memberships like other banks, I don't think it will be charged.

You are mixing 2 different issues here :

Issue 1 - PP usage charged in India - I will still stand by my words here. PP should not be used in India as its excessively expensive and at some point of time HDFC will devalue something else if this pattern continues. Also HDFC should expand its lounge list (accessible by card alone) before charging for PP usage.
All the tier 1 and tier 2 city lounges charge much less than 27USD and its a sublime act of stupidity from HDFC to allow PP access rather than enabling infinia card access in these lounges. Also there is an issue of lounges adding guests to PP without mentioning to users and this will lead to additional charges.

Issue 2 - Communication. Yes HDFC has failed miserably here. They 1st allowed PP usage in India and now have no clue what the exact plan is.. and answers vary based on which team u ask. Also if they charge PP access without extending lounge list then yes its a devaluation to some extent. Also not sure if they need to strictly go by RBI guidelines in this case however silently changing T&Cs is pure incompetence or malicious behavior.

Also even if it happens they will revert it. Regalia gold pp comes with sticket to not use in india while infinia comes with none.

Neither its mentioned anywhere that it will be charged inside india unlike other cards where it's mentioned.

Isn’t it clear that no further discussion amongst ourselves is going to resolve this stalemate? It’s all on HDFC, and they obviously have been cagey about this whole affair. But our best read of the situation is, they would prefer we use the card itself wherever possible at domestic lounges, and reserve PP mainly for international lounges, but both remain free to use for domestic use. Beyond this, they won’t say anything to encourage widespread PP domestic use, and let’s leave it at that.

This long thread should ideally end here. But if God forbid anyone gets charged for a legit use of Infinia at a domestic lounge, that will be the only sign that something has actually changed in their policy, and that’s when we can resume this discussion elsewhere.

Why are people still calling & emailing cust care. Already someone on here has posted that people higher up the chain itself have given confirmation that PP is free for domestic use as of now and there are no changes.

It just seems you guys want them to devlaue this

As much as I'd like this to be true, I think we have received conflicting information from multiple sources, and some people have been charged previously (which is why this whole thread was started). My humble opinion would be to keep this thread going for another 2-3 months -- give time for PP charges (if any) to be posted to the statement for people who have used PP domestically recently (including me). We can stop the discussion until someone has a confirmation either way.

the case of being charged was bcuz guest visit was put by the lounge ppl ... till now other than that no one has been charged for normal usage ... 7th march changes ppl found so post this 3 months ~ we can know is it really changed or not... till then there is no concrete proof that pp is chargeable or not...

No one has been charged for PP vists yet. That was a case of guest being added which did result in reversal of charges regardless AFAIR

Yes they called me. In the call they mentioned using PP in domestic lounge will attract 27usd.

Unless they send a mass communication to all, I don't think they will be able to charge for PP domestic access. Even if they do charge, you can complain and get back the refund.
