HDFC Marriott Bonvoy Card

I’m expecting HDFC to also gain Marriott points transfer partnership for their super premium cards as a result of this collaboration, maybe around the time of Infinia Reserve launch.
Haha.. it is like marvel at comic-con. Showing 5 seconds teaser trailer for a movie that will happen after 10years+.

And they expect people to still like marvel movies after 10yrs. Same with this infinia reserve, you might not like it when it gets launched or other bank cards might be more attractive by that time.

Amex Marriot Bonvoy Brilliant Card in US gives Platinum status
For a fee of $650 per year.

In India I think it will be very tough to sell a card with that kind of fee without a lot in of benefits that US premium cards have like
Price protection
Return protection
No FTF
Global Entry
Rental car insurance

And many more.

Does it help to get status faster - Marriott platinum if one has Gold earlier
Banks tie up with another companies, like marriott, hp, etihad, etc for the sole purpose of having a co-branded card, for mutual benefits. Other than that, both parties have different workings.

It (HDFC Marriott card) adds 10 EQNs to your account so depending on where you already are, it helps towards next status. If you are already good with say 30 EQNs, it will make them 40, you will need 10 more for platinum.

Hope that helps

I'm looking is it worthy to apply for HDFC Marriott Bonvoy Card and using that book the property and get bonus 5X points as well as 15k joining bonus points? If anyone can shed some light into this...

I have Swiggy HDFC with 52k limit

I want to book a Marriot hotel in Dubai with around AED2-2.5k for 5N6D... Jan-Feb'25

Also a new account with Marriot will be linked/made or the current membership id I'm having will be linked with my CC as well? If anyone knows..

My email id on marriot and with HDFC is different....

While applying for the card, you have an option to give your existing Marriott membership number which should link your accounts. This card will give you 10 elite night credits and silver elite status. Now 15k you have to see how much value you can extract for that Dubai hotel

But 15k is after fees charged and the fees are charged after 90 days that's what I've heard....

Ok so while applying I can mention existing membership ID. But email difference won't create a problem right?

So I was thinking to book directly and gain 5X points then think to redeem 5X + 15k somewhere in India.

Btw where can I redeem these points any suggestions? In Mumbai can it be redeemed for Veg Dining 😅?

You can add points to 15k and use that balance anywhere in Marriott properties . It's not recommended to use points for dining as it gives 0.2p value per point. I got the card in September and already got the 15k points, so I think 90 days is the maximum team. Email id different should not be a problem and even if they create another account, you can always merge the two accounts by sending mail to Marriott support

I have the card and I am Titanium with Marriott and understand both the card and Marriott program fairly well.

The card will give you 10 EQNs to count towards your status with Marriott.

Email difference is not a problem, my HDFC email is Gmail and Marriott is a different provider. When I applied for the card, there was no option to provide my Marriott Bonvoy number to it so HDFC created a new Marriott account for me. I had to ask my HDFC RM to get my correct account linked to the card which took almost 3 weeks.

The card doesn't give you 15k points, it gives you a free night voucher which can be used to book a night (subject to availability). If you have points in your Marriott account you can use some of those to book hotels requiring upto 30k points (essentially you can pay points to go 15k points above 15k points the voucher covers). Just note that you can only book 1 night with the voucher so if the hotel per night cost is say 6k points, you will still be able to use it only for 1 night.

Please let me know if you have more questions

Is the FNA redeemable globally or only in APAC?
