Devaluation Horrible Experience with ICICI Super Saver HPCL Credit Card

I got the ICICI HPCL Super Saver Rupay Credit Card in March only for fuel spends, as I also use HP Pay app. They billed me within 2 days for joining fees. (500 + GST).

However, the experience has been horrible, as in, the card does nothing that it promises. Doesn't deliver what was promised on fuel and to add insult to injury, looks like the movie ticket offer and road side assistance feature is non-existent too, or has been quietly devalued.

Whether I pay at HPCL pumps swiping the card, using the credit card option on HP Pay app or adding to HP Pay balance on HP Pay app (have tried all three), am getting charged extra fuel surcharge and worse points are zilch. Nowhere near the 5% promised. As per the card T&C, they are supposed to give 2000 points on collection of first year joining fee, but have not done that either. I've called them earlier and they said they would look into it, but didn't.

There is a 25% off up to Rs 100 on booking of movie tickets on INOX website or BMS, and while I used that once it seems that offer is no longer available to users of this garbage credit card too -- the credit card page highlights the benefit, but the offer page for INOX and BMS both don't have this card mentioned and today when I checked whether the offer was available to use on BMS, didn't work as expected. Clearly another feature where devaluation has happened but ICICI Bank is quiet about it.

There is a complimentary 24x7 Roadside Assistance Feature and according to the T&C, supposed to get details on it within 60 days of joining, but no surprise, nothing has come. Perhaps this is another feature by ICICI Bank on this card that is being touted but doesn't exist in reality. Don't want to be stuck somewhere on the road to find out.

I finally told them to cancel the card over the weekend and demanded my joining fee back since the card is completely useless. According to customer service only swipes on ICICI Card POS machines at HPCL pumps get cashback, but the Membership Guide and T&C for the card says you are eligible for CB on any bank machine (talk about informed customer service!).

They called me today and offered me reversal of joining fee to not cancel the card and I took it since I wanted joining fee back, but will cancel this garbage card in a few months. Anyone considering this card--beware. It is anything but "Super Saver." It's a "Super Garbage" credit card.
 
Bro, i am also in same bus, i am facing everthing same that you have faced. No Joining benifit, no cb and surcharge reversal on fuel. When i complained it to rbi they said that its a technical glitch...
Now last option is to cancel this card and bear the loss of fees. No any other option remains...

Please don't give up and let ICICI Bank con you. I have got back joining fees -- threatened to cancel and as part of retention they refunded it. Now, fighting to get the cashback and reversal of fuel surcharge.

At the very least get your joining fee back.

actully my 400 Rs cashback is pending headservicequality promised me that i will get it in 7 working days, after that i will try cancellation request..

Yes, agree! I had this card and it is of no use. Finally closed.
 
I have this card as LTF (Rupay).

This card T&C reads:

Offers on utilities and department store transactions​
a. The Cardholder(s) are entitled to 5% back benefit as ICICI Bank Reward Points on utility and departmental stores, subject to the cap specified hereunder​
b. There is no minimum amount threshold required to qualify for the benefit. Under this benefit, the Cardholder(s) earn accelerated reward points for every INR 100 spent on the above mentioned categories. For example, the Cardholder(s) shall earn 20 points on every INR 100 spent.​
c. The ICICI Bank Reward benefit shall be capped at 400 ICICI Bank Reward Points per Statement cycle​

This seems like a separate 5% cashback upto ₹100 (yea low) for ₹2,000 spends in a month. If I pay though UPI linkning this cc, how do I know the QR code I scan at random shops wherever comes under utility/department store MCC?

If they are "fixing" reward rates, why do they advertise it is 4% rewards? Can we complaint to RBI regarding this false advertising?
Here “fixing” is that now they should be providing what they’d advertised but we’re not doing it earlier. Also, Complaining to RBI doesn’t help-
I already tried,
First, the bank wouldn't acknowledge that reward system of the card is broken and would just term it as "Technical Glitch"
Every time I complained about fuel cashback, they would reluctantly agree to give only 4% cashback. They mentioned in response to my RBI complaint that the MID doesn't belong to HPCL pump so they won't give 1% fuel surcharge waiver (but MITC clearly mentions that 1% surcharge waiver will be given on all fuel transactions)
About pricing of the card (My RM promised me LTF card but I was charged fees) they just said there was no offer at the time and RBI doesn't have a say in commercial decisions of the bank. (They didn't even acknowledge about false promise)

But problem is still as it is. Now Rbi closed the case and i am also unable to open old case or file new case in this regard. Icici realy sucks. They ever told a lie to rbi. I do not know now where i can complaint.

I got this card LTF, did fuel transaction twice, low reward points. No help in complaining to ICICI. I decided to keep using SBI BPCL. This card will sit in my table drawer.

Should I complain to RBI, how did you get the compensation?

Mine was paid card, so told rbi that icici sold me a card and now not completing its promises of cashback. Rbi contacted icici they said it was due to a technical glitch. But icici failed to solve it for a long time of 5 months. So rbi told them to pay fine of 5000 to me.

Anyone tried transacting on the card after 19th July?
If they’re still not giving points, we could try complaining to ASCI about their fake advertisement of fuel cash back just like this-

i am very much harassed by icici behaviour, so yesterday i given the request to close the card. they have also not tried to retain me and today card got closed.
Thank god " Musibat se Mukti Milii"..
