I have too many. Currently investing only in the first 3.
  1. Quant Small Cap Fund
  2. Quant Mid Cap Fund
  3. Quant Large Cap Fund
  4. Nippon India Small Cap Fund
  5. Nippon India Focused Equity Fund
  6. Franklin India Focused Equity Fund
  7. Tata Digital India Fund
  8. ICICI Prudential Technology Fund
  9. ICICI Prudential Banking and Financial Services
  10. ICICI Prudential US Bluechip Equity Fund
  11. UTI Nifty 50 Index Fund

it's there an easy way to invest directly in nifty 50 shares without spending a lot of time buying each one of it?
Yes create a basket of the nifty 50 stocks you want and buy them in a go. I generally buy undervalued sectors from nifty 50 universe.

Also you can create or.copy smallcase for this also.

I see Zerodha Kite basket doesn't support more than 20 stocks at a time.
I assume creating smallcase is better as we can reuse it to invest every month.

No need of two flexi cap
Quant flexi cap can be replaced with nifty 50 index fund.Quant small cap fund could be considered for tata small cap.

Just my opinion, if i had this money i would have done this. No way a recommendation.

Nice thread!
Sharing my portfolio:
Current Mutual Fund Holdings:
  • Parag Parikh Flexicap (40%) – SIP On | Retirement fund | Targeting 50% allocation
  • Invesco Midcap (57%) – SIP Off | Retirement fund | Target corpus achieved
  • Quant ELSS (3%) – Old tax regime investment | Unlocks in 2026 | Will eventually consolidate into core funds

Parag Parikh Arbitrage (1%) – Emergency fund build-up
  • Using this instead of traditional bank instruments
  • Fully aware of associated risks and comfortable with them
  • Plan: Scale to 6x monthly household expenses as first level
  • Bulk of monthly inflows currently going here

Next Steps:
  • Once PP Arbitrage hits 6x, will begin a second arbitrage fund (likely from a blue-chip AMC) to reach 12x emergency fund target
  • Add another flexicap fund (leaning towards ICICI or Edelweiss) as the fourth core holding

If one no longer wants to choose FDs because of slab income tax rates, what options are there? But should be stable like FDs for emergency fund?

If you have a home loan overdraft account, you can park your emergency fund there. Apart from this I don’t think there is any other option which will provide similar liquidity.

I personally never OVER-DIVERSIFIED my portfolio.
1. Parag Parekh Flexi Cap
2. ICICI Prudential Value Discovery

REASON:

1. See I am of the opinion that if you invest in mutual funds, let the fund manager have the freedom to choose the stocks of his/her choice. That’s why Flexi Cap.
2. The second thing which I always favoured is the fund manager. If the fund manager is good, give him/her the money, have trust and patience.
3. Exit is equally important as entry; therefore, have the plan for exit too. If your goals are achieved, exit, doesn't matter whether the market is.
4. If you over-diversify, it’s like you are investing in the entire stock market. Then it would be better to choose NIFTY or SENSEX.

SIP OPINION:
See, SIPs are good; they will average your returns, but they can also negatively impact your return too. It’s like a two-sided sword. I never prefer SIP, only since I have a relatively better understanding of the market, entry point, and exit point. For instance, since the last 1 year, I haven't invested a single rupee because of the valuation. I knew that the market adrenaline would have to cool down at a certain point.

But if you doesn't have much knowledge about market, go through SIP, it's best.

NOTE: You can only make huge money if you invest for a short time, like if you have invested in late 22 and exited at Sep 24, you would have made huge money from the market, but on the other hand, if you have a longer horizon, you would have been sitting at almost flat return in this period.

A SMALL SUGGESTION - ALWAYS KEEP CASH IN YOUR HAND TO INVEST AT THE TIME OF MARKET CORRECTION.
