I have been using Swiggy instamart for all grocery needs in the last many months, but visited Reliance Smart Bazar today to buy some things that I didn't find it online. To my surprise, there are actually a hell lot of items in Reliance Smart Bazar. It is like a big warehouse. And the offers are much better than online ones. Really there are a lot of B1G1 offers on all these rice flours, atta, and many more items.
I used to buy from that shop earlier and all, but after getting the hang of online quick delivery apps, I slowed down my visits to these shops.

But I can say, Reliance is much better in terms of number and variety of items compared to More or other super markets. (I am from Kochi, Kerala, and we don't have DMart here yet.)

I am thinking of slightly changing my grocery purchase strategy next year onwards - depend on quick delivery apps only for urgent needs. For general purchases, I am planning to visit offline on say a weekday afternoon where rush is also less and I can peacefully get all items. My offline grocery would come near 10k per month.

Coming to card to be used - Today I used UPI scan there today using Neu app/infinity card. (1.5% neu coins)
  • But I think I should get a Live+ card, that gives 10% cash back on grocery purchases offline.
  • Otherwise, are there any reliance vouchers that I can purchase with better discounts?
  • Or is the SBI Reliance co-branded card better for this use? .
Live+ will give the best value

HDFC gyftr has Reliance smart Vouchers

If you apply for second card, you have to follow complete process with all the documents.
You can switch your platinum card to live+ by simply chatting with customer care executive via mobile app. But you will not get 1000 cashback offer if you switch.
You mean the main 10% cashback offer won't be applicable if one switches to Live+ from an existing card?

I am already waiting to get the Rs 500 cashback on Rs 5000 spends in the first 30 days using Platinum card.
They told it will take 60 days to get this cashback welcome offer. Also I am waiting for the other Rs 250 amazon vocucher for completing VKYC. That also will take 60 days it seems. (This is the bad part of HSBC, too much of waiting time for getting welcome offer.)

If I want to switch to Live+, is it better to wait and get this cashback first and then switch, or directly close platinum and swap to Live+?

For fulfilling the spend threshold of 20K under welcome cashback offer, are government spends (spends towards NPS) considered?

These government spends are excluded from the regular 1.5% cashback feature of this card as per TnC, but for the welcome offer there aren't any specific exclusions mentioned.

Anyone aware based on discussion with the customer care or tried the same?

I tried enquiring with HSBC CC but the representative seemed disinterested and directed me to have a look at the terms available on the website!!!🤐
