ICICI Bank iShop Accelerated Reward Points Portal Launched - Upto 36% Reward Rate 🔥

As promised by ICICI Bank at the time of launching the Emeralde Private Metal Card and Times Black Card, they have introduced their Accelerated Rewards Portal, iShop by ICICI Bank. Through this portal, ICICI Bank cardholders can earn accelerated rewards when purchasing gift vouchers, booking flights, and reserving hotels.

The portal is similar to HDFC Bank’s SmartBuy for HDFC customers. However, ICICI Bank also offers accelerated rewards to its debit card and net banking customers, even if they don't have an ICICI credit card. The portal appears to be in beta testing, as ICICI Bank has added a "Beta" tag to the iShop logo. So, expect changes in rules and capping.

Let's dive into the details of this portal!

Reward Earning on iShop Portal

Credit Cards & Debit Cards:
  • 6X Reward Points on Flight Bookings & Shopping Vouchers
  • 12X Reward Points on Hotels
  • 4% Cashback for co-branded ICICI cards
Net Banking Customers:
  • 3% iCash on Flight Bookings
  • 6% iCash on Hotels
  • NA% iCash on Shopping Vouchers

Redemption on iShop Portal

You can redeem your credit card reward points on the iShop portal.

The value of credit and debit card reward points depends on the card you hold. For example, with the ICICI Bank Emeralde Private Metal Credit Card, 1 reward point = ₹1.

Redemption Options:

  • Flight Booking: You can pay 100% of the order value using reward points.
  • Hotel Booking: You can pay 90% of the order value using reward points, and the remaining 10% must be paid using the same credit card.
  • Shopping Vouchers: You can pay 50% of the order value using reward points, with the rest paid via card.

For Net Banking Customers:

  • Instead of reward points, Net Banking Customers receive iCash from iShop (1 iCash = ₹1).
  • For flights, hotels, and gift vouchers, you can use a maximum of 80% iCash, and the remaining 20% must be paid via net banking.

This is an amazing launch from ICICI Bank. ICICI Bank has often been tagged as a low-rewarding credit card issuer, but with this portal launch, customers can now earn significant bonus reward points using their ICICI Bank credit cards. This is a great way to revamp the bank's credit card portfolio.

One key expectation from ICICI Bank is that they should enter the airmiles game as soon as possible. According to some sources, they are already working on it. They are also aiming to launch a hotel co-branded credit card soon.

This will be the third statement since the joining fee was charged.

Could be some technical issue. I had got 12500 reward points the day fee was billed. Didnt even had to wait for making payment.

But got the Taj voucher after several months.

Edit: May be in your case they are delaying it, as they are finalising ishop and switch over of rewards is to happen to this.

HDFC need not react to this. This is just icici meeting their quarter targets. This kind of reward structure won't work for icici.
This set-up of reward structure cannot be short lived. It would spoil market reputation. Yes, some revaluations/devaluations can happen.
It may be tough fight with the muscle power that HDFC holds.

See their highest priced card is not the one which gives highest rewards, which I think by itself is a red flag.

Thats still a mystery. How and why Times Card got planned in this way. Inspite of ICICI itself saying that its highest rewarding card is EPM.

Out of this whole episode of ICICI revaluation particularly for EPM I am seeing an opportunity for some TF members who have EPM

The deal is those who have EPM can easily sell Apay vouchers at say 8-10% discount and earn good profit out of it.

You guys can take RML membership and sell them here too.

times black is just a way to make money for icici 🤣 they charging very high fees and not compensating the fees and even not rewarding... it's just a gimmick for ppl who want to experience premium card xD bcuz getting epm or infinia is bit hard 😛

that times card was never exclusive xD it was given to anyone and everyone...ppl with 2L limit around also have got 😂 times black is just a product for making money bcuz ppl won't be even reaching waivers mostly and the joining fees also is not properly compensated xD epm is exclusive and there they are surely giving amazing rewards

so u cannot compare times black .. its just that epm and infinia are hard to get so ppl are jumping for the times black those who want a premium card and want to experience what a premium card is nothing much... and there are ppl who dont care much about the 20k as along as they can hold a premium card which they can get easily..

for example - @Dr.Anand456 he just wanted to experience a premium card and it was hard for him to get epm and all so he went for times black
I new from the start that if ICICI Bank was charging a high fee for this card, they would eventually introduce significant benefits. Increased rewards were inevitable. At that time, the card was easily available, but in the future, it will be much harder to get. I had already predicted this, and now it’s happening exactly as expected.

That’s why it’s always wise to grab a credit card when a bank offers it—you never know if it will still be available later. If it doesn’t suit your needs after a year, you can always close it. There’s no harm in trying it out.

My main reasons for getting this card were:

  1. It was my first super-premium credit card, and the experience of owning one is unique.
  2. It also upgraded my savings account to Private Banking, unlocking several exclusive benefits—which I’ve already started enjoying.

Recently, I received a pre-approved Adani One card, and my Rubyx paid card was converted into a lifetime free card. So, the card's fee has already paid off for me. I expect even more benefits in the future.

One of the biggest advantages is that having the Times Black card will make it much easier to get an invite for the ICICI Emerald Private card—possibly even a direct upgrade. If that happens, I’ll close my Times Black card.

So having times black card automatically upgrades you to private banking in ICICI?
If yes, how to check if I've been upgraded?

Yes, once your ICICI account is upgraded to Private Banking, your iMobile app and net banking interface will appear in a golden theme. Additionally, your calls to customer care will connect directly without any verification questions—this confirms that your account has been upgraded.

However, not all accounts are guaranteed to be upgraded. This is not an official feature of the card; the upgrade happens internally at the bank’s discretion. Previously, when your old TRV+ card and increased account value were considered together, your account was upgraded. However, this is no longer certain. Only a select few accounts have been upgraded, including mine.

Ok - I have my statement date coming soon. Let’s see.

ICICI seems awful in crediting RPs though. I still haven’t received the EPM joining RPs yet, though they charged the fee in November.
Joining rewards system seems broken. Works for some getting immediate on payment of fees. I too raised such request in December after that got 2 mails one giving welcome vouchers other saying 12500 points will be credited 45days of payment of fees - still not done, again a customer service request is pending.

How much time it used to take for UI change as per private?

Looks like reward points redemption is limited to 90% of the total amount in hotel bookings and 95% in flight booking.
Do others also find the same.
