ICICI Bank Saving Account not opening- First Part

There are total Four Part which i roll out one by one (keep updated)

As many requested received by our community members to open the thread regarding the incident so now I open this thread to shared the successful incident of opening offline ICICI savings account

I am not allowed to open account online because I already hold a icici account 3 years earlier which is closed due to re-kyc 😟
(Kyc not updated with bank within one year so my account is automatically closed)

I explained Step by step process (if any mistakes find please correct me)

There are only 4 ICICI Branches in my city

5 February 2024 :- I visited Ist branch(main branch) for opening salary account (not saving)but there is no CASA employee (3 in that branch) present in the branch at that time so they gave me number of one of a casa employee & said contact him to open salary account..

Then i call him immediately but he is not picking up my call( i called thrice)

Then I immediately visited next nearest branch ( 2nd Branch) which is newly opened, only three employees present there..

So I talked to one of them, he checked my joining letter, then he called another employee who opened salary account but he is not picking his call..,So he give contact of that employee to me who didn’t pick his call…but he is also not picking my call, then that day i do nothing & back to my home ( socha 2 number aa gaye hai call p baat karke kaam ho jayega)

Then after comes to home I searched contact number of 3rd Branch on google (because those two are not picking up my call) which I found then i called on that number which is a lady

Then that lady give me another number of another employee who opens salary account ( which later comes to know that he is a employee of 4th Branch )

Then i called that fourth person , he asked who gave you my number to you, I said XYZ mam gives me number & saying contact him to open salary account, then he said “ ok sir send me your joining letter, after checking letter he said I visit your home tomorrow to open account.. I said ok”

6 February 2024:- Next day he is not come to my home so I called him again then he said “sir open account online,it’s simple,mai call p hi apka account open karva deta hun”

Then i tell him all shit why I can’t open online,
Then he said “ sir visit your old ( 1st Branch ) branch & open that closed account

Then I said closed account cannot be opened but “he kept telling again & again open ho jayega sir bank toh visit kariye”…I said ok because i m happy to hear that my closed account will be opened…

Then on same day I called on all numbers which i get during this journey

I opened a ‘Mine Zero Balance’ variant account with ICICI online in 2021. However, due to incomplete KYC, the account was closed two years ago. This was confirmed by ICICI customer care email and also by the branch.

On 9th April, I visited the nearest branch and they filled in all the details for a new Privilege Program Savings Account with a 1 Lakh cheque. Later, He visited my home for verification and also handed me an InstaKit. The employee told me that my account would be opened by the evening of the same day. After 24 hours, on 10th April, the same employee called me and took an Authentication Code over the phone. He mentioned that my account would be opened within an hour of providing the authentication code. But there has been no update since then. I raised a request on Twitter, but they have also been unable to help so far. 😔

The employee did mention one thing on 10th April. Five hours after the account was not opened, I called him. He mentioned something about the rejection due to the closure of the old account or KYC, and asked for the details of the old account number. He also confirmed that the old account was closed, but after that, there has been complete silence. I haven’t contacted him since then.

I have stopped my cheque and also informed them that if the account is opened, I will surely issue a new cheque. But for now, without any clarity, I will not do so.

The Twitter team was really impressive. On the 11th, they informed me over a call that the branch was closed for the day. They promised to provide an update the following day after speaking with the branch manager.

On the 12th, they asked for my email ID and assured me that they would provide an update after their discussion with the branch manager, just before ending the call.

A few hours later, I received an email instructing me to wait until the 16th of April for further updates.
