ICICI Bank Times Black Credit Card Launched - Full Details & Review

It seems like everyone is getting the Times Black Credit Card. According to ICICI Bank and a few reports, this card is supposed to be one of the most exclusive credit cards in India. However, the reality is quite different. Almost everyone who already holds a credit card with ICICI Bank is getting approved for this card on a shared limit basis when they apply.

That said, this card is not worth the fees, and we do not recommend it.

Looks like I’ll have to get this worthless card myself just to review it.

Absolutely correct. A while ago, I received a message from Time Black stating that the application process for the card had opened. Since I had already read in this thread that existing ICICI Bank customers are easily getting this card approved, I decided to give it a try. To my surprise, my card was approved within a minute, without requiring too many details or a CIBIL inquiry. The card is already showing in the app.

While the process is indeed simple, it raises the question: if this card is so easily available to everyone, how is it considered exclusive? Additionally, the credit limit matches my existing card's limit. Even though my card limit is ₹2,53,000, this card still got approved. I already have 8 ICICI Bank cards, and each one has some limit utilization. As a result, I won’t be able to fully utilize the potential of this card.

Most likely, I’ll cancel this card as well because, with such a low limit and a high fee, it doesn’t seem worth it to me.

Its definitely worth finding out what went wrong.
A card with super premium features, positioned for exclusivity, hype, wait list and very high fee, is now being issued to everyone on first come first serve basis.

Did poor reward points of 2% kill it.
What a flop show from ICICI.

Hope they dont initiate the charge before you cancel the card - as they are marketing this as METAL card

With low limits on Times Black card, how is ICICI expecting to spend 25 lacs. Its not possible to achieve this target.
ICICI has made a joke of itself.

I am hoping that soon they would give news of making it LTF for the early applicants who believed in them. 😛

Surely ICICI would need to do something. Most of the people who have taken this card wont activate.

I am thinking of applying mainly for the benefit of rewards for tax payment - not able to get Biz Black card though I am self employed and have Infinia as none of the branch guys have a clue regarding floater form or card.

What about the fee? Will they charge the fee even without activating the card?
Whether we can cancel the card before activation?
