Icici has these categories of account in increasing order. Regular, Privilege, wealth management, wealth select and Private.

Talking about top 3 categories - Wealth management gets world debt card. Wealth select and Private gets visa infinite.
All these cards are lifetime free. Looks of visa infinite is better. And the only extra benefit in visa is few more lounges.

The best benefit in these accounts is very helpful RM (though he/she also has targets to sell) and instant connection to wealth customer care on phone banking. People are polite and nice to talk to. At the branch you walk into the dedicated wealth section and they help you out with everything. Products like loans are available at better rates.
If needed they go out of the way to help, can even come for doorstep services. Very friendly and helpful people.
They would spoil you. Just to share an example, my wife drops into the branch just to say hello to them. She has made friends at the branch.

The benefit of wealth select and private is more to people who make investments. Otherwise all 3 types of acounts are more or less same.
The downside is regular calls and advices to sell products.

Before applying for a card, confirm whether you are eligible and whether the card is lifetime free or not. Since you have closed your existing card, your account will be downgraded in a few days. After that, charges for the debit card will start to apply.

I think the actual visa infinite debit card looks different. And also account type is mentioned on the card.

Do share pic once physical card arrives.

Requested for private banking debit card last night.

So now holding wealth management MasterCard world debit card which i got by default & this Visa infinite debit card which is yet to be dispatched.

Requested for private banking debit card last night.

So now holding wealth management MasterCard world debit card which i got by default & this Visa infinite debit card which is yet to be dispatched.

If they don't downgrade my banking in next 5-6 months, will also order mc world to replace my default visa platinum.

How does ICICI treat the downgraded accounts in terms of the already issued DCs. For eg. most folks who applied for TB got upgraded to Private banking then ppl requested for Private DC.
In case the ICICI chooses to downgrade the relationship from Private to some lower tier for a valid reason, will they continue to let you keep private DC on an LTF basis or some fee will be levied?

No big deal, for me so I never bothered to apply and no plan to do for this gimmick. But for some it is as it’s from the first TOI press.
