ICICI Bank Times Black Credit Card Launched - Full Details & Review

I think if someone gets the card and doesnt activate it (by setting pin), then also the card should get automatic cancelled in 30 days and no fee would be chargeable.
And also if bank calls for activation, can ask for LTF. Someone can share such experience.
Impossible for such high end cards.

LTF conversion for a 24K annual fee card doesn't happen this way specially when the card isn't even activated. You can negotiate when you have made huge spends on the card (typically more than the threshold for waiver) and try to close it, bank won't want to see you go. Not at this point.

Everything is possible.
When I had asked to make EPM as LTF, I was put on hold to check eligibility. And then was told of no eligibility with some reasons like since you are also holding a add-on card etc. So it means that super premium cards also have possibility of LTF.

Great - why dont you try and set the example.

All of us can follow you and get the card as LTF.

It's a known fact that some super premium cards are issued LTF but then there's a criteria to it and are issued to select few. It should make business sense for the banks.
You can ofcourse try out the way you suggested and update this thread for our enlightenment.

Ha ha ha.

I know that I am not eligible for LTF super premium cards of ICICI. Have already been denied incase of EPM. (Eligible for Sapphiro LTF, but not taking that).
But still no harm in trying for this.
Will update.

No.
I dont collect cards. I believe in one person one card. Makes life easy.
Having 2 cards as of now. DBM and EPM. Using EPM only where DBM doesn't work. Once I get Infinia (hopefully in a few months), will terminate EPM.
Then how would you try the trick you suggested for Times Black and update. I'd like to have it as LTF if something works 🙂

DBM=Diners Black Metal? You must be trying to upgrade DBM to Infinia.

Have a plan in place. Will come back.
Cant disclose here. This community is monitored live by all big banks.

Yes. Working towards that. First need a LE which can happen only at a gap of 6 months.

Slightly unrelated but when my Diners Black got upgraded to Infinia it was issued as LTF. Of course this was backed up by 2-3 years of extensive use on Diners Black. So yes, super premium cards are also issued LTF in some cases.

Yes, my observation is that basis your spending pattern and a combo of several other parameters banks may choose to issue/upgrade to LTF. For eg, say your Infinia plastic is LTF and you are spending consistently in the range of 20-25L while spend threshold (i.e. 8L/10L) for fee waiver with a good TRV with the bank, bank may choose to upgrade your card under the same pricing/LTF. On the contrary, HDFC won't convert your Infinia Metal/plastic to LTF if you ask for it...there could be some exceptions which I'm not aware of. We would never know the exact criteria but in my circle, no one was able to get their Metal variants converted or other cards upgraded to LTF metal variants when explicitly requested.

Btw, it would be interesting to know who all here have got their Infinia PVC LTF upgraded to Infinia Metal LTF or DCB to DCBM LTF 🙂

Finally, I received the card dispatch message and email. Today, I also spoke with my Relationship Manager (RM), and the Visa Infinite Private Bank Debit Card was successfully issued to me. This card isn’t directly available to anyone; it requires a specific process. Even my personal RM didn’t have complete knowledge about it.

To get this card, you need to call ICICI Bank customer care and speak to the Product Service Manager. Only they can take your request for this card. However, you need to meet the eligibility criteria. Simply having a Private Banking status won’t be enough.

Important Points:

1. Availability Based on Location:

ICICI Private Banking services are only available in selected metro cities. Your location must be eligible for these services before you can claim any offers related to this card.

2. Activation Requirement:

If your account has been upgraded solely for this card, you need to activate the card first to unlock its features. If anyone thinks they can get this card, gain Private Banking status, and then cancel the card, they should reconsider, as it could be costly. Once the card is closed, your account might be downgraded after some time.

3. Charges and Lifetime Free Benefits:

If the card is issued to you as a Private Account holder, it is lifetime free. However, if you request the debit card without Private Account benefits, charges may apply later.

Advice:

Think carefully before requesting this debit card or availing of any offers. If used without proper understanding, it could lead to unnecessary expenses or complications.
