ICICI Campus Power account

[Reason for opening is to get an icici card(platinum ltf and then Apay), so suggestions regarding getting that easily without proving income is heartily welcomed.]

I have no prior relation to ICICI Bank. I am planning to open an account there, preferably one with low MAB criteria. I searched and found out about this account, but requires a 'premier institute' student label. Being a student, but not of a premier institute I am confused.
Please share experiences or suggestions about this account and how to open.

I went to branch to open this account. But, they were constantly against opening this account for whatever reason. They said they need approval from higher authorities to open this account. I explained to them that I need a zero balance account with credit card benefits like Campus Power account. The BM personally had a talk with me. Instead of this account, he opened ICICI Family 360 account with initial 1 lakh funding. There is no monthly balance requirement. He personally assured me that he would issue me a lifetime free credit card.
Status : Account Opened but waiting for sometime before applying for credit card as I recently has a credit enquiry from ICICI.

I went to ICICI branch to open campus power account for daughter. They straightway refused if any such thing exists. I showed then ICICI website. Still they said , nothing is there. Complained over twitter. Got response that they will contact branch. Branch people came to open account at home. Confirmed multiple times with them that it should be Campus power account. They always told yes. Later in few days got an mail that you have applied for "mine savings account" and got mine debit card too. Contacted customer care, they told it need 10000 Min balance and it is not campus power. I asked , I had opened Campus power only. They contacted branch and later called to confirm that in few days it will be converted to Campus power. My worry is , who is saying truth here, and is this the process , first to open mine account and then convert to campus power

Regards,
Sachin

I got this account opened for my daughter. However, when mail received with the filled form ( which was digitally filled by ICICI emp then when they visited home to open account), It showed you applied for mine account. There is no reference to this saving account on website. I confirmed with branch officials, they are confirming that it is student campus power account only. However, I am unable to see this mentioned anywhere in netbanking. Can anyone confirm if MINE account is same. If not, where can I verify the account type.

Regards,
Sachin

I recently had an issue with ICICI Bank's Campus Power savings account and wanted to share my experience and the resolution, in case anyone else is facing similar issues.

Back in May 2024, I opened a Campus Power savings account with ICICI Bank because they advertised a complimentary credit card from the first year onwards. However, when I tried to apply for the credit card, the branch executives denied my application, saying I wasn't eligible. This was frustrating because the advertisement didn’t mention any such restrictions.

After my complaint to ICICI Bank didn’t resolve the issue, I escalated the matter to the RBI Ombudsman. I also filed a complaint with the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) about the misleading advertisement. ASCI took action, and ICICI Bank has since updated their brochure and webpage to clarify the eligibility criteria for the complimentary credit card.

In the end, ICICI Bank issued the promised credit card and corrected their advertising materials. This experience highlighted the importance of clear and honest advertising and the effectiveness of raising concerns with regulatory bodies.

If anyone else has faced similar problems or needs advice on how to escalate their complaints, feel free to reach out. I hope sharing this helps others navigate similar challenges!

Good one !
Banks often mislead with their confusing Ads

Now they're offering sapphiro credit card too in the range of complimentary credit cards. If here's any expert who got a good relationship with icici, tell me if after 6 months or an year, can I request for this card?
