IDFC Bank Upgrading Select Credit Card to Wealth Credit Card for Selected Customers

IDFC started upgrading IDFC Select Credit Card to IDFC Wealth Credit Card on request.

Process:

- Call to customer care.
- Tell them that you want to upgrade Select CC to Wealth CC.
- They will deny saying that Wealth CC has a minimum floor CL of 5L and we cannot upgrade.
- Inform that you've been using your select card well for the past 3-6 months.
- They will deny again (If possible).
- Then tell that many of our friends are getting it upgraded to Wealth CC from Select CC.
- They will take the request for upgrade.


-Within 1 working day the request has been processed to Wealth CC.



Note:

1. We have tried 3 cards within our friends and family circle and all have been approved.
2. All the members are having CL more than 2L (So not sure of Select cards <2L Credit limit).
3. I have Wealth account.

I tried for this upgrade route twice. Failed both times. Have Select card with 3L limit.

First time tried (in July) by calling and raised the request for credit card upgrade without LE. Then got a call after few days and they denied the upgrade.

Then after a month, mailed cceo team. They called and raised the request and same happened.

If you hold Wealth Account, you can call and ask CS. But 3 months for newly issued card holders. This was the latest information I got from CS team, when I tried to upgrade my wife CC to wealth CC.

Close your card, if you're lucky, you'll get a call and they'll upgrade, if not, try again after 15 days with the trick.

I have Wealth account of IDFC and 30L TRV/NRV via FDs. Raised a request today to upgrade my Classic credit card to Wealth CC. They took the service request. Spends on the Classic card also extremely good in last financial year (enough to make IDFC cream their pants). I hope it's approved otherwise I am gonna close Classic in anger and apply fresh. I had applied on basis of IndusInd Legend with 3L limit but they gave only Classic with 1L limit which after LE is 1.32L 🙁 I earlier had taken a WOW card for 0 forex spends and that's why despite high TRV with the bank, they kept offering me only low end cards with low limit. Back then there weren't a lot of LTF 0 forex cards on the market and I didn't know WOW card would become the curse to unsecured IDFC credit cards.

Yes I see the SR raised in SMS, email and after login. Once I get Wealth CC, I don't care much about LE as nobody in the right mind would spend so many lakhs every month on this devalued credit card. Only in sales/offers and movie ticket BOGO it's useful now
