IDFC Bank Upgrading Select Credit Card to Wealth Credit Card for Selected Customers

IDFC started upgrading IDFC Select Credit Card to IDFC Wealth Credit Card on request.

Process:

- Call to customer care.
- Tell them that you want to upgrade Select CC to Wealth CC.
- They will deny saying that Wealth CC has a minimum floor CL of 5L and we cannot upgrade.
- Inform that you've been using your select card well for the past 3-6 months.
- They will deny again (If possible).
- Then tell that many of our friends are getting it upgraded to Wealth CC from Select CC.
- They will take the request for upgrade.


-Within 1 working day the request has been processed to Wealth CC.



Note:

1. We have tried 3 cards within our friends and family circle and all have been approved.
2. All the members are having CL more than 2L (So not sure of Select cards <2L Credit limit).
3. I have Wealth account.

Update at 9pm on 30-07-2024: Seems Savings account needed for this trick. (Wealth Worked for me and Select worked for my friend)

What about existing CC Limit if I choose to apply c2c basis?

1.5L in Classic/Millenia -> Select (3L) -> Wealth

5L for Wealth but it depends on your profile also. Not only existing card limit matter.
Salary or income doesn't matter anymore, you can directly apply and get Wealth card without any documents.

Any idea about select? I guess it would be 2L?

I got Millenia with 1L, have barely used it, so no scope of LE as of now for a couple months. I have a select account, so select cc will be easier to get I suppose

yes, if you have a Select account then call the CC and ask them to upgrade your card without LE. The limit doesn't matter in this case.

When I asked for upgrade they said I m not eligible n they told to open a ulip for wealth card. I said if I m eligible please process or don't need it. The person said not eligible

Then I raised card closure request and that time the customer care person asked why I m closing I said I asked for upgrade n they said I m not eligible n so closing it

Then he immediately said I m eligible n will approve it straight away. I told no need to do it n let card be closed

This is really weird strategy. If I close card I m eligible but if I keep the card I m not eligible
