Hi All,

IDFC has started issuing Power+ as second. This was not available before. Only IDFC Vistara was eligible as second. Now you can also apply for Power+ card with shared limit. Instant approval & virtual card available for existing IDFC customers. I got my card today morning.

I have a question on the power plus product page idfc suggests one will get the 1.5 pc value back from HP Pay app only if one adds to the HP Pay wallet using this credit card. (6 Pay back points essentially, 3 while adding 3 while paying by scanning the code). Now when I added money to the wallet through this cc it showed a 0.85pc surcharge. Is that surcharge applicable on this card also? If that's the case it's not a 6.5 pc value back as advertised. But so far i saw just a charge of INR 500 and no surcharge. Will keep posted. HPCL cards are very confusing to use BPCL and IOCL cards are straight forward.
Yes, there is an extra 0.85% (add money) and 1% (direct pay) surcharge applicable if credit cards are used on HP Pay. So, the 1.5% benefit on HP pay is effectively useless !!

Also looks like one doesn't even get the 1.5% back if done directly scanning the QR code without loading it through wallet. Useless card. SBI BPCL Octane is much better higher return and no such gimmicky steps involved.

Btw effective return for this card would be 4.65% that's the real return (if paid through HP pay app) and 4% if paid directly. I don't think it's a good idea to go through all that hassle just for 0.65% extra. Also, Axis IOCL usually LTF also gives a 4% return. I don't think I will be renewing this card next year. Instead will close my Samsung Infinite (Now useless with Magnus devaluation) and get an Axis IOCL LTF instead.

Kotak IOCL is much better than other Fuel cards with Same Annual Fee.

Next is BOB HPCL
IMO when it comes to fuel cards, not a single card is perfect as rewards are always hit or miss since there is no proper mapping of fuel bunk network exists with any of the fuel companies. So, for assured repeated rewards you need to identify specific bunks in your city.
