Hello Folks,

Today I was comparing reward benefits for Exclusive & Pioneer debit cards from IndusInd & I think the Exclusive card gives more rewards than Pioneer if spends are above 5000.

Value per Point:
Exclusive Debit card: 0.35rs
Pioneer Debit card: 1rs

Base Reward Rate:
Exclusive Debit card: 2 points for every Rs 200 (i.e. 0.35% return rate per 100rs spend)
Pioneer Debit card: 1 points for every Rs 200 (i.e. 0.5% return rate per 100rs spend)

Pioneer is better just by 0.15% than exclusive basis base rate. But Exclusive debit card comes with 6x reward booster if spends exceed above 5000rs as below: -

6X Rewards Structure for every Rs 200, as per the following grid:
Upto Rs. 5000: 2 Reward Points per Rs. 200 (i.e. 0.35% return rate per 100rs spend)
Rs. 5001 - 10,000: 3 Reward Points per Rs. 200 (i.e. 0.525% return rate per 100rs spend)
Rs. 10,001 - 20,000: 4 Reward Points per Rs. 200 (i.e. 0.7% return rate per 100rs spend)
Rs. 20,001 - 40,000: 5 Reward Points per Rs. 200 (i.e. 0.875% return rate per 100rs spend)
Above Rs. 40,000: 6 Reward points per Rs. 200 (i.e. 1.05% return rate per 100rs spend)

Pioneer debit card will reward 0.5% irrespective of amount of spends. Also I checked the spends exclusions T&C are same for both the debit cards.
Only benefit with Pioneer is no upper cap on reward earn & redemption limit compared to Exclusive.

So basis above does Exclusive card rewards better than Pioneer or I am missing something? Any catch?

PS. I have got one account upgraded to Pioneer and other account still Exclusive which I am planning to upgrade to Pioneer as well but above debit card benefits now stopping me to go for upgrade.

If above holds true, then Pioneer team shall need to relook benefits on their debit card to make it above par than exclusive.

you can check recent changes here, even though it doesn't impact Poineer DC.

I dont have Poineer DC, so can't comment about this as of now..
However, I have Exclusive DCs , they are very good wi th regard to Reward Rates and recent changes did not impact Exclusive Dc, thank God !!

I think you can. I have Exclusive, Select and Pioneer DC
Bro can we hold delight and exclusive DC at the same time. I currently have delight account with IndusInd and delight dc, since I have legend CC planning to upgrade to exclusive account. Can I keep the delight card as well once I upgrade to exclusive. Please share gyaan.. exclusive/select I may be mistaken

What you mentioned about the reward rates for Exclusive and Pioneer DCs are pretty much accurate.. and what I can see the main difference is for Pioneer there is no limit to earn and burn the RPs per month, where as Exclusive DCs have limits.. mentioned like below:

Legend makes select account zero balance
Pinnacle makes exclusive account zero balance

So yes u can upgrade to select account and keep ur old delight dc

Yes, but even we consider 4 to 5 points average on a big value txn, it will still require more than 2lac spends to reach 5000 points cap. So for most of the spends in range of 50k to 1lac, Exclusive card gonna reward more than Pioneer.

I guess we shall share the above & tag to Pioneer team to revisit their card features 😛
