I opened one month before an Indus Advantage account which they were opening through Indus Credit Card. After one month they blocked the account. I also visited the branch they were clueless why the account was frozen. They said it will take 10 days and they need to personally verify the address. Can anyone assist what can be done here to speed up this.

For how many days have you used your indus Digi-start account? Have you faced any account freeze problem. And what kind of transaction have you done in Digi-start?

My Experience with IndusInd Bank's Digi-Start Account

I've been using my Digi-Start account for over two years without any account freeze issues. Most of my transactions involved UPI payments and credit card bill payments.

I opened this account online via video KYC, but shortly after, I had to visit a branch to update my signature. I believe this step ensured my account remained active and prevented any blocking issues.

However, recently, I started facing problems with UPI transactions. UPI apps were unable to fetch my account details, and UPI payments stopped working altogether.

A Horrible Branch Experience

Recently, I visited a branch to open an Indus Select account for my mother (who already had a Delite account). Unfortunately, the experience was frustrating, raising further concerns about their services.

Points to Keep in Mind When Dealing with IndusInd or IDFC Banks

Based on my experience, here are a few tips for managing accounts with these banks:

  1. Avoid Using Them as Your Primary Account
These accounts may not be reliable for regular transactions.
  2. Keep Transactions Within Your Declared Annual Income
Ensure your accumulated transactions in a year don't exceed the annual income you declared during account opening.
  3. Visit a Branch at Least Once
Perform at least one transaction at your nearest branch to keep your account active.
  4. Avoid UPI or Bill Payments
These banks are not the best choice for UPI or frequent bill payments.
  5. Avoid Issuing Cheques for IP
Instead, use debit cards or net banking for IP payment.
  6. Use These Accounts Primarily for FDs or Investments
They are better suited for fixed deposits or specific investment purposes.
  7. Declare a Higher Annual Income
If you wish to do more transactions, ensure you declare a sufficiently high annual income during account setup.
