IndusInd Bank's Buggy Credit Card Application Process - Application Already Pending

IndusInd rejected my CC application. I asked them reason for rejection. Here's their reply:

Please ask for the actual specific reason, and internal guidelines are not above RBI guidelines which clearly direct the bank/issuer to specify the reason for rejecting an application.
If needed threaten them with RBI ombudsman.

They would give a dumb reason saying PAN not validated or whatsoever. The reason wont ever make sense.
 
PAN not validated - sounds stupid enough.
PAN not validated by whom?
Normally means online validation with Income Tax database failed. Check status of PAN on Income Tax site, whether it is in "Active" status or not. Can also happen in case there is variation in demographic details like Name/Fathers name etc.
 
Hi everyone,

Writing this post regarding a bank with the worst tech and a non-existent customer service - IndusInd bank.

I hold an exclusive account with IndusInd and last year in July I was given a chance to upgrade my existing credit card (EazyDiner Signature one) to Crest and I went for it. However the welcome benefits offered during the application were never confirmed when I received the card by customer service hence I never activated it yet they wanted to charge the fee for it. I closed the card in October and didn't apply anything after that.

However I wanted to apply LTF legend in March and tried applying via their website. But it showed this repeatedly (I had no application before that, no card and most of all no application at all since this one can't be considered application because there was no OTP asked / entered)

I reached out to their customer care and they took almost ~4 months to figure this. There was so much back and forth and they gave me wrong commitments all along. I even reached out to ombudsman but there's no update there itself since the status says bank is working on it.

Now recently they emailed saying that this has been fixed and I can try an application. Now when I did, they say you already tried earlier and we couldn't validate your PAN with NSDL hence it's declined and we are unable to issue you a card.

The lowest a bank can go. I'd happily accept if it was declined basis any other criteria but this is a complete shady practice by IndusInd.

The executives offline say the PAN had been blocked hence the application wouldn't go through. The bank says they can't block the PAN.

The customer care tries to call from the same number which offers personal loan (I registered a DND with them since I was receiving almost 4-5 calls in 1 day to take personal loan). Now they say they can't reach out to me.

I don't know if IndusInd itends to follow guidelines set by RBI or just violate them all along. All in all this is a disastrous experience even after lodging Ombudsman complaint almost a month back.

Good luck dealing with this bank if in future ever an occassion arises when you need to dispute a transaction. God save you!
Same issue, apparently I have indusind pre approved credit card but cannot apply for it because my pan no is blocked for past 2 years for some unknown reason and both indus cc team and nodal officers have ZERO Idea about it and they are like "aisa bhi hota hai kya?" Btw I have been touch with them for past 1 year regarding this but to no avail

your PAN is blocked by bank or by IT dept? I had similar issue 2-3 years back. My PAN is about 25 years old. Apparently, at that time, they issued two PAN in my name and although I have been consistently filing returns and quoting only one PAN, when the IT dept systems were updated by TCS, some highly intelligent TCS fellow wrote some code that ensured that my active PAN was blocked and the other PAN, which did not have a single txn over 20 years, was made the primary PAN. Had to physically visit the AO, furnish a notarised affidavit and then request for re-activation of my PAN. Even then, they did not do it immediately, and only after I filed a complaint in PG Portal they finally did it.

I've faced a similar issue and finally decided to close all our credit cards.
I don't find many benefits with IndusInd cards, and tbh, their customer service is the worst.

I've had horrible experiences with this bank, and to have peace of mind, I moved all my funds from savings accounts to other banks and now use IndusInd only for FDs.

I feel disappointed with how this bank is escaping scrutiny from the RBI. We've seen the RBI ban Kotak, Bank of Baroda, and HDFC for various reasons, and they are doing a far better job than IndusInd. So why isn't the RBI addressing the issues with this bank?

I think Indus*nd is avoiding RBI Ban by freezing their customers bank accounts. 🤣🤣
 
Same thing happened in my case.

Their Level 1 support is kind of worst. In their response email, only 5% is for you and 95% of email is usual template. That 5% also won't answer your question. It will be as if no one has actually read our emails.

You can see my query and their response to my query which I highlighted.
My query:: was regarding the error I face when I apply for a new credit card mentioning that there is already a pending application. I asked them if they can cancel the old application it if possible.
Their Response:: was more of the credit card application process and that it will involve various checks and approvals.

I don't know how to connect these dots.

Then I had to escalate the matter to Grievance team and get a straight answer.
