The whole purpose of using HP cobranded credit cards is so that we can bypass the hassle of card swipe on POS machine. Many petrol pump dealers discourage using debit/credit cards for payment. Especially during peak rush hours they almost force us to pay using upi. Sometimes they dont have the correct POS machine to redeem points like in the case of SBI bpcl octane. In HP cobranded cards atleast we can scan and pay while ensuring proper cashback. I agree that Indusind Titanium debit card might be good but I dont want to open a separate savings account in Indusind just for that. Especially after the recent fiasco at Indusind bank I prefer to stay miles away from this bank. IDFC bank is miles ahead in terms of their customer service and digital app services. So excepting any special limited period offers, actual highest possible return on this card when we deduct the surcharge is just 5.65%? Not 6.5%? I am still using my IndusInd Titanium Delights debit card instead for a flat 5% on any fuel MCC and no surcharge (doesn't matter if IOCL, HPCL or BPCL), doesn't matter even if they have a Paytm or PhonePe POS. Of course, debit card as a payment method should be accepted but most do. Card's charges waived off for entire year upon doing 25K DC "spends". Redemption of RPs is thru Indus netbanking. Max 750 per month.
Although I may take this IDFC card again for 5% on grocery MCCs. First I just have to make sure some HP petrol pumps where this card actually works.
