INSANE 7 TO 7.7% CASHBACK ON FUEL PURCHASES USING IDFC POWER+CC

So excepting any special limited period offers, actual highest possible return on this card when we deduct the surcharge is just 5.65%? Not 6.5%? I am still using my IndusInd Titanium Delights debit card instead for a flat 5% on any fuel MCC and no surcharge (doesn't matter if IOCL, HPCL or BPCL), doesn't matter even if they have a Paytm or PhonePe POS. Of course, debit card as a payment method should be accepted but most do. Card's charges waived off for entire year upon doing 25K DC "spends". Redemption of RPs is thru Indus netbanking. Max 750 per month.

Although I may take this IDFC card again for 5% on grocery MCCs. First I just have to make sure some HP petrol pumps where this card actually works.
The whole purpose of using HP cobranded credit cards is so that we can bypass the hassle of card swipe on POS machine. Many petrol pump dealers discourage using debit/credit cards for payment. Especially during peak rush hours they almost force us to pay using upi. Sometimes they dont have the correct POS machine to redeem points like in the case of SBI bpcl octane. In HP cobranded cards atleast we can scan and pay while ensuring proper cashback. I agree that Indusind Titanium debit card might be good but I dont want to open a separate savings account in Indusind just for that. Especially after the recent fiasco at Indusind bank I prefer to stay miles away from this bank. IDFC bank is miles ahead in terms of their customer service and digital app services.

I am facing an issue while trying to use my HPCL BoB Energie Credit Card at HPCL fuel outlets.

The outlet refuses to provide the HP Pay QR code for payments via the HP Pay app.

Instead, they only offer a store UPI card (which is not supported by HP Pay) or insist on payments via HP Wallet.

Already raised a complaint with HPCL, no response.

HPCL BoB Energie Credit Card is simply waste for me.

What about IDFC HPCL Card? Same way.

Can we get cashback without using HP Pay QR code?
Bro they are not going to "provide" any qr code. The Hp pay qr code should be printed on the pillars in the HP petrol pump. If ur nearby HP petrol pump doesnt have those QR codes then u cannot pay using HP pay app. Either ask them the reason for not having those QR code or go to another authorized HP petrol pump. U can get the list of authorized pumps from HP pay app.

Many petrol pumps have BharatQR which works in GPay where I've tokenized (stored) the IndusInd Delights Mastercard DC. So Scan and Pay via GPay using that card also works. But I am not here to discredit the IDFC HPCL CC. I am sure it's a fine card whenever it works. I plan to get it again for groceries once I find another HP petrol pump near me where it works and doesn't give "card not active" error.

Checked multiple Petro Pumps in and around my neighborhood.

No one has printed on the pillars.

Could be CIBIL issue. If you have a credit card of some other bank you can easily apply on card to card basis on the app. Once u get any one of IDFC first bank's credit cards then it is very easy to get Power Plus card. I got it as a floater card on my IDFC millenia card within 4 months.
CIBIL is 802 with cards from HDFC (Regalia Gold and Nue infinity with shared limit of 3.9L and history of 4+ years) and Easydiner Signature with limit of 4.7L but only 1 month old.
They asked for other cards and I put Regalia Gold with the limit when I applied.

Damn man. With that high Cibil score and Regalia gold limit you should easily qualify for IDFC select credit card. Email them and ask them to reconsider your application along with Regalia gold statement and cibil report. They may consider it. Last year I got their Millenia card with just 6 months of prior Cibil history and Cibil score 780. They just did home and office verification and approved the card in 1 day.

I'll try to email them and see how it goes
Wealth To Be precise....

Which is better one Wealth or select?

Can it be an address issue as residential address is in tier 3 city while office is in Gurgaon?

From what I have heard, IDFC bank is a bit strict in giving their Wealth Card. Read it somewhere that we need to have atleast 5L limit on existing credit card to apply for IDFC Wealth card on C2C basis. But after the devaluation they may have slacked off the criteria little bit.

Could be. Sometimes when office and home address are not in the same city then the algorithm automatically rejects most of the applications. Maybe thats y you were shown only Wow credit card which they give even in non-serviceable pincodes. But once you send them an email then they may do manual application and approve the card based on your Cibil and ITR.

I can't find their Email address online. Do you know where I can find it. I can only find the whatsapp banking and 1800 number but no email.

Well it's too late for me. The card is closed and my ₹590 wasted. Even though this may be a problem with all petrol pumps whether it's BPCL or IOCL, I will try both now and hopefully my luck won't be so bad as with the HP one in my area.

Anyway if the POS machine is rigged so the card txn fails, won't it show up in IDFC's system that card txn failed or was declined? IDFC said nothing showed on their end

It will always be a problem with agencies irrespective of the brand.

The best option is a company owned company operated station which isn't always convenient.

Thanks. I've sent them a mail. Let's see how they respond.
Are you supposed to provide the password when you send them card statements?
Yes you must send them the password. Because different banks have different password formats for opening their statements. I future, to avoid any confusion you can send a file without password by sending its screenshots in pdf version.

They sent this mail today but the sms that i received has a link to apply for credit card.
When I try to retrieve credit card application using the application number they sent with the mail it says can't proceed.
Should I try to apply with a fresh application or mail them again and let them know of this issue?
