IOB online account opening detailed process - Best for RSDC

It’s ironic that IOB has resolved my issue on email but wants me to visit branch to talk to their MD on video call to tell that issue has been resolved to my satisfaction. 🤪

I think someone else also mentioned here this kind of thing. Want to know their experience if possible. 😄

Basically they choose 20 Random complaints every month where the customer and manager joins a video conference with a team at headquarter which includes MD too. They started doing this since last month (Sep 2025) and they will do this every month.

I had two option for video call, Go to Regional Office or Join with a link. I went to RO because the manager requested and also drove me there in his car.

There I met the Regional Manager and talked to him everything in detail. What happened, why it happened, and he promised it will never happen again. I was also offered lunch but denied. He was very respectful and said this is the first time he is doing this type of conference.

After around 20 minutes the video call started where all the 20 managers and the headquarter joined. Then we waited around 10 minutes for MD. He came and said that "This is the first time we are doing this that why this is late form next these kind of conference will happen between 10 to 20th of every month". He asked to start the conference and started using his phone.

During the entire conference he never looked up and kept using his phone. I did not like it. Its like he did not wanted to be there and was forced.

One by one every manager spoke about the problem and then customer said yes I am satisfied. That's it. Then they disconnected the call. I tried to spoke extra but was stopped by someone at headquarter and she said "thank you for your time and we have noted your feedback."

Nothing useful there. Do not go if you aren't free. Everyone including, Regional manager was curious and a bit afraid what would MD ask. I was requested to not say anything against any person as they do not know what MD will do.

They were also a little bit afraid initially but after seeing the MD's reaction they just chilled out. On the way back the brach manager said, "Faltu me itna pareshan huye." 😆

Just one suggestion, If they offer you lunch accept it.

I talked to branch on call and they said 501 is required as MAB and will be in Lein. It’s weird thing, I will visit branch and get clarification.
Thanks for sharing the email IDs. They’ve put a ₹59 lien on my account too.

Thanks for explaining in such a detail. It was like I was already there in the meeting. 😀

Btw I told the manager already that I'm busy due to festival days and can't visit personally but If you will give the link, I will join the meeting and tell them that the issue is resolved to my satisfaction.

Although my account is Digital Insta which is without KYC, so I'm also giving a thought to visit and do the kyc as well as attend their meeting.
 
That's the important email which will pressurize branch to take quick action and today most probably, you will get a call from branch, and they will resolve your issue.
Sadly I haven’t been contacted by branch yet 🙁 had mailed to csd and gm-csd. Looks like my branch folks aren’t afraid at all.

Oh thats good but seriously this is pathetic right? Like the person had tagged 2 emails on seems like branch specific and other seems like city specific.

So either they know everyone in chain is super chill and laid back. Or They are not afraid at all.

Yes exactly and in fact they initially had asked me ki RSDC directly nahi de skte before 6 months.

So I took like 2 minutes and checked thread here which said that after getting Rupay classic we can request upgrade(in fact that is may be cheaper) but regardless I thought I will do that and asked them specifically ki which account we are opening and will I be able to upgrade DC later.

(I don’t even won’t to add that there was a person who came to deposite some cash which was getting very VIP treatment like people were filling forms for him and so on. Not sure what benefits he would be providing staff)

Initially that favouring didn’t bother me and it even doesn’t now but come on if you can do so much for someone. Do at least bare minimum for others
 
Has anyone recently opened This IOB Bank account for getting the RSDC?
Did you face any issues during or after the account opening process?

So after receiving the card, can I set the pin from IOB Connect app itself? V-KYC skipped

Asking this because had a stupid experience with CBoI. After receiving RSDC, the card was showing "Deactive" in Cent eez app. Called customer care and they said that after September 1, 2025, all premium debit cards have to be activated by visiting the home branch and then only PIN can be generated. Never tried the ATM route, because ik the BM. Called him up, explained everything and dropped an email to the branch email id that I have received my card and want to activate it. After 1 day I was able to set pin through the App.
Any update on this, were u able to activate via app?
 
I also opened the digital saving, but instead of upgrading from classic to select debit after 4 days, I waited for it to be delivered. The classic debit card got delivered to home address and when I upgraded the debit card , got a sms saying that upgraded card will be delivered to branch and please collect from branch. Is there a chance it will be delivered to home?
Where did it ultimately get delivered? Home ?

Update on my scenario.

Even after getting a mail from csd with Cc to my branch I have received no communication from branch whatsoever.

It has been 14 days now since I received reply from them. But now my account in the app shows that PMJDY debit card 🙁 in inactive state.

Is there anything I should be doing? Or wait for a month and then complain to RBI (one of my concern with thi is as I had told then verbally while in branch to open account with RSDC I have no proof that they denied other than CCTV recording of branch if there is any. Then does my case even have any value? And adding to that I haven’t received any complaint number)

Why not visit branch Directly and ask BM about ur situation?
They can convert ur account in 10mins
