Kiwi, a credit card platform, has announced the launch of its all-in-one “Credit on UPI,” solution for customers. Certified by the NPCI, Kiwi is the first app in India that will help customers experience “Credit on UPI” by issuing Rupay Cards in partnership with banks.

With this launch, the company aims to create one of the largest direct-to-consumer (D2C) models in the credit market through its mobile application, which offers users the ability to make payments using either a credit card or bank account directly through their phones in a secure manner.

Speaking about the launch, Siddharth Mehta, co-founder, Kiwi, said, “UPI has become the most inclusive mode of payment in India, with over 30 crore unique users and 5 crore merchants onboarded on the platform. With the launch of Kiwi app, for the first time in India, users can now leverage the power of a (RuPay) credit card with the convenience and ease of UPI. Our vision is to enable access to credit on UPI for 1 million users over the next 18 months.”

Kiwi users will be issued a RuPay credit card, digitally and instantly. Post receiving the card, users will be able to link the card to UPI on the app and will be able to use the “Credit on UPI” transactions facility at offline as well as online stores. The Kiwi app will also help users manage their cards with a host of facilities like blocking cards, increasing limits, and making card payments while rewarding them for every transaction.

Praveena Rai, COO, NPCI said, “In our step towards attaining the goal of ‘Digital Payments for All’, Kiwi will be a game-changer in the Indian credit card industry. With the monthly expenditure on UPI P2M transactions amounting to approximately Rs. 3.2 lakh crore, which is almost 2.5x larger than the monthly credit card spends, Kiwi is set to capitalize on a significant untapped market. Looking at the whitespace that Kiwi is addressing, we’re confident that their model will support plenty of Indian credit card users on a daily basis.”

Axis executive visited home.. Took pictures of me ( plain backgroud ), pan, aadhaar, house number ( said part of verification ).. Had to hand over one month salary slip.. No OTP, just biometric.. Form filling done on tab.. Executive was decent enough to let me review all details before hitting SUBMIT ( yea my first time where executive let me touch the tab ).. Got SMS with application number ( caller had claimed they already have application number and only KYC was pending ) meaning this was a fresh application.. The executive showed on tab application - Kwik, Joining NIL, Annual NIL..

I will keep posting updates..

I applied for the KIWI credit card and filled in all my details. The application process seemed smooth at first, but then it got stuck on the processing page for nearly a week. I started to get impatient and decided to email KIWI customer support.

After a few days, I received a call from a lady representing Axis Bank Credit Card in Mumbai. She asked me to confirm my name and permanent address. I thought things were finally moving forward, but another week passed without any updates. The KIWI app still showed the same processing message, leaving me frustrated and confused.

Then, just the day before yesterday, I noticed that I had been allocated a credit limit on an Axis Bank credit card. I didn't receive any approval messages, so I assumed it was the KIWI card. Excitedly, I opened the KIWI app, only to find it still stuck on processing. However, to my surprise, the Axis Bank mobile app displayed my card number as the Kwik credit card, which I discovered was the same as the KIWI card after some Googling.

Feeling puzzled, I emailed KIWI again, requesting access to the app so that I could use the card. It was strange having to ask for access when they had already approved my card, but I didn't receive any reply or resolution from them. So, I decided to message them again today.

After an hour or so, I received a notification from the KIWI app, and when I opened it, it was finally working. Overall, my experience with KIWI has been below average, frustrating, and irritating. I've lost all the excitement I initially had for this card.

By the way, it's worth mentioning that my application was approved without the need for income documents, video KYC, or physical KYC. I'm an existing savings account customer of Axis Bank.

So yeah, not the smoothest or most enjoyable experience, to say the least.
 
Anyone’s bill generated ? It was supposed to be generated on 12th. And also full card details still not available. What are these guys doing ? 🤡
Yeah bill got generated but card details not available lol. Either have to pay by UPI through their app directly or by Axis app. Inka contact no. hota to bharpur galiya sunata.

Yes pay via their app directly with linked Saving accounts..Smooth and easy..Paid today itself..Other options also available..
