Kotak White Card Annual fees fraud

Hi, I have a salary account with Kotak bank and was offered LTF Kotak Zen Signature card. After 2 months I recieved an upgrade offer in the Kotak app for LTF Kotak White card. It was clearly mentioned on the app and the upgrading process that the card is LTF with no joining and no annual charges. There was no joining fees charged to the White card and after one year, in the last statement they have charged me 3500+ taxes as annual fees. I have contacted Kotak customer care and through twitter as well and they are now denying that the card is upgraded as charge basis. Please help me out.

Did you have privy banking with them before and lost that status?

Without a screenshot of ltf it'll be difficult to prove.

Reach out to grievance redressal and explain your situation in detail and ask them for a reversal, tell them to downgrade and reverse the charges if they are not accepting

No don't have privy banking nor I had a prior privy banking with them. I already have this screenshot but still they are not acknowledging

If it's ltf it should be written in Welcome letter
 
Sadly, I had thrown away my welcome letter. But while applying for the upgrade offer, it was clearly mentioned that it is LTF. Then isn't their responsibility to give it LTF?

They wouldn't care. White card is given LTF to salary account holders with monthly salary credit >= 3L. If this condition is not met, offer does not come on app. You can negotiate with RM for LTF but offer wouldn't come on app unless you have NRV of 30L with bank.

While OP mentions that he has been charged annual fee after one year, the white card application screenshot date is 16-Jun-2024. If this was applied one year back and he is currently holding the white card, the offer cannot be present in his app anymore. Also Kotak app does not allow screenshots. The Kotak cares chat screenshot date is also 16-Jun-2024. Further, the 2 screenshots are from 2 different mobiles, which is perfectly alright 🙂

Just for info...I have Kotak salary account for 15 years+ and did not meet either conditions for LTF white card. My app always showed paid upgrade offer to white. I negotiated with RM and got it done offline this year.
 
Having danced the eight-year tango with Kotak, I’ve learned a step or two. Why waste time with Kotak’s customer support when you can samba straight to the RBI? Kotak may lead you in circles, but a complaint to the RBI puts you in the fast lane, with VIP treatment in just two weeks your card will be LTF!

- Kotak CS can't help you. Until RBI enters the stage.

kotak is not having direct e-mail ID just like / reachus@indusind.com

Really you want to go step one step two and waste your time with kotak 🤔

Dealing with Kotak for 8 years never used their site for raising complaints.
I directly mail them to the following mails. That is quicker.
Note: Website or direct mail - ultimately, you'll be dealing with uninformed agents whose systems show that customers are at fault every time.

Doesn't Zen have a better reward rate than White unless you spend like lakhs and lakhs on White?

I wonder how it can be OP's own screenshot if he has got the card one year back. He cannot have an upgrade offer to white while already holding a white a card. OP can you please throw some light on this?

Who uses Kotak cards anyways? It's only for the lounge access.
