Latest Working methods to pay Credit Card Bill from Debit Cards

Just a small question, how to check the mcc for kotak and sbi DC? When i asked them multiple times, they gave me excuses like sharing mcc on call/email is against their standards and i will have to visit the branch to know mcc. Escalated through emails but same results

Do a small transaction using HDFC or RBL cards. They easily provide mcc code.

Are u sure freecharge mcc 4900 (utilities) and not telecom (4814). Because @MrJJ said few days back it's telecom.

Yes I know and to confirm that did a small test transaction yesterday and checked with customer care today mrng where they said mcc is 4900. I got this merchant Accelyst something in otp msg and after payment it shows FREECHARGE PAYMENT TEC Gurgaon IN in email.

Depends on MCC. The Merchant Category Code is Reward God that decides whether to provide chillar or not.

In last few days I am having a feeling that there is a secret group (formed in last 6 months) and members of it must be having an alternative plan in place (to overcome exclusion of airtel dc option) to get extra 5% upto 500 (telecom). That's why they are not reacting / responding, neither helping newbies to get to know those things easily in fear of losing their edge.

If my suspicion is true, then let them be happy. I will be doing some test transactions this month to find some of those edges and alternatives.
