ICICI Coral RuPay credit card didn't work in Bangalore metro. The folks there seem to be clueless about NCMC too. Not sure, may be language barrier (I don't know Kannada), was there for a few days.
AFAIK, ICICI RuPay debit/credit card is not enabled yet NCMC feature.

Bro which cards should be preferred for Metro Travel? Preferably CC. I have a lot of cards but none of the cards are activated.
My preferred target cities are Lucknow, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata.

Can 2 people use the same ncmc card assuming one follows to other to the entry gate.
From what I understand the card registers one entry point and then expects an exit point to follow. So if one uses it in a case as above how would the card comprehend the 2 users.

This understanding is correct. Read this in FAQ of some Transit Corp .

IOB has debit card number itself as wallet account number, Union Bank has saving account number with prefix R as wallet account number and Indian Bank has some random wallet account number. IOB's way of having wallet account number makes more sense as wallet account is valid only till card expiry (we can still use offline wallet balance already loaded in card but can't make further recharges) and each card will have separate wallets with respective card numbers. In other two ways of having wallet account number, think any new recharges will be reflected only in new card as there is no change in wallet account number. But when old card has balance, it can make some problem in balance sync in new card. It will be better to make further recharges only after finishing existing balance. This need not be the case in IOB's. Don't know how other banks determine wallet account numbers. But should be similar to either of these ways.

@Abhishek012 if possible, please add steps to enable wallet account in Rupay debit cards in your FAQs.
If your Debit Card is a personalized RuPay Contactless (NCMC) Debit Card, Rupay Wallet is already enabled on the card automatically.

If your Debit Card is an Insta (non-personalized) RuPay Contactless (NCMC) Debit Card, Please inform the branch to enable the RuPay wallet on your Debit Card.

One should ensure that wallet account is enabled as above before creating service with metro or other operators.

Hi, could be a stupid question but do these AFC let us use our normal debit or credit card to deduct money and let us travel through metro? Are any particular networks (Rupay, VISA, etc.) are scoped to be used in such scenarios?

Great News - Now Kyc is not required for RuPay NCMC Cards:

RuPay NCMC (National Common Mobility Card) can be issued with a limit of Rs 3,000 without any KYC as RBI eases rules
Good move! This way unused cards can be recycled easily. We can give the card to anyone without any hassle just like the previous metro cards. It'll be easy for the operators to issue new cards as well.

Single Acquirer bank hone se problem start ho gaya. Pahele he maine yaha comment me kaha tha multiple Acquirer banks hone chahiye.

"I have the State Bank of India (SBI) NCMC card issued from a Metro station on the red line of Mumbai Metro. This NCMC card is used by me frequently on the Mumbai Metro Line 1 (Blue line) for travelling to my workplace as this line runs from Versova to Ghatkopar. However, the card cannot be recharged in any of the Metro stations other than the stations falling on the red or yellow line. I was told by the customer support of Mumbai Metro Line 1 (blue line) that the specific card (SBI NCMC) that I have cannot be recharged by them. I can however use my SBI NCMC card in the blue and other line(s)," said Murchana Borthakur, a daily passenger in Mumbai Metro Line-1 to ET Wealth Online.

I have this SBI Mumbai Metro Prepaid NCMC Card:
Slider-mmrda.png

It worked flawlessly across all Mumbai Metro Lines, BEST Buses, Bangalore Metro, etc. Plus it gives some 1-2 rupees discount on Mumbai Line 2 and Line 7 rides.

I have found recharging it to be a complete pain. It cannot be recharged at Line 1 stations. It cannot be recharged in BEST Buses. It can only be recharged at Line 2 or Line 7 stations using only cold hard cash. Multiple times multiple stations they have refused to accept anything but cash. If you want to pay online (UPI, card, netbanking), you can do it on this portal: https://transit.sbi/swift/customerportal?pagename=mmrda but then you have stand in a queue at the station to get recharge actually loaded in the card.
Have you actually tried it in a normal BEST bus? I have an this card plus a chalo card for bus. Would be great if I had to use only one of them.

Axis Bank Kochi Metro Rupay card. There is card loading fee of 12. Additionally, it offers a 10% discount on the metro.
Yes, But Kochi metro is not in the network of Rupay NCMC. We need to use this Kochi1 card separate. (I mean other normal rupay debit cards won't work here)

Kochi Metro RuPay Card is currently Closed loop card. Hope they will upgrade to open loop RuPay NCMC system within a few years.

yes, Either Kochi Metro should accept all Rupay NCMC cards, or they should include the Kochi1 Axis card in the NCMC network.
Currently, this being a prepaid card, not sure if either of these will work.
