Looking for Rupay Credit Card Suggestions

I am looking for a Rupay credit card with good reward rate. I’m okay with paying annual fee as long as it’s worth it. My monthly spends on UPI are typically 75K+ (mostly vendor payments, and Rupay CC works for those - I have already checked).

I’m looking for no cashback restrictions tied to specific categories (like dining or travel); as said, it will mostly be for vendor payments using UPI QR scan.

I understand with my spend type; something like a milestone based card will be best. So any current options? Would be OK with travel based card as well.

I know about:
Kiwi CC. Sadly, not available in my area due to YES bank restriction. They’re offering a free 1-year Neon subscription based on my credit profile. Question: If I link my savings account or existing HDFC Rupay CC and pay through the Kiwi app, will I still earn cashback?
Tata Neu: But do not wish to be tied to Neu coins which works for Tata app family spends.

Would love to hear your suggestions or tips!

- Tata Neu Infinity Rupay
- SBI Elite on Rupay (Decent reward rate along with some lifestyle benefits) - Almost Annual fees can be covered by your spends 10L has to be spent on year for fee waiver
- BOB Eterna Rupay
Thanks for the suggestions. All ok, but none seems to have any good reward rate. I understand with RuPay CC, I can't expect crazy reward rate; so I am mostly looking for milestone benefits. Vistara cards on RuPay had those, but missed that train, or should I say missed that flight 😛

@JustMak Just started realising the problems of HDFC Tata Neu Infinity Rupay credit card.
  • Neu coins unlock and expire in a weird manner. They could have just kept one single date to unlock all coins for a month and one single date to expire all coins. Now it is like every day, some coins are getting unlocked and it is not so easy to track or use.
  • Neu coins earned through different ways (purchases, UPI scans, offers etc) have different expiry dates, making it difficult to club and use.
  • Neu coins cannot be used for bill payments or recharges, though they say technically it is 1 coin = 1 rs, we can use it only to spend more from their products. That is a lock in situation.
  • They block/delete neu coins from our account just like that. (see here)
Because of all this, I am not finding it very convenient to use the neu coins. The cashbacks earned are not making worthy of time spent.
Want to move to a simpler Rupay based UPI card, even though rewards are low. Could you fnd out anything yet?

Yes KIWI, BOB Snapdeal, PAYTM SBI

3 of my least preferred banks 🥴
I went for no rewards bank icici Coral rupay & axis neo rupay for upi usages as i saw my many cards are kept in drawer, so closing and using only that are actually required others are just waste of time as well as money.
Will upgrade them to higher variants whenever I will get opportunity for ltf and want to be stable, went for many cards used them closed them.

Yes, I am in the same boat. I have Coral and Federal bank wave Rupay cards.
But I thought Neu infinity was better in terms of cashback, but their neu coin structure is not user friendly. that's the reason of looking for a different card/bank. I will update once I have a solution.

I am only left with 6 cards from 5 banks now
Earlier I was having 35-40 cards and from start of 2024, I was trying to go stable with cards so most of them ended with closing and for my most surprise legend card automatically got closed in June and that's because it wasn't being used for last 1 year and this is so called guidance from RBI.

So, i came to a conclusion why keeping more cards if RBI already have defined that if we don't use a card for a year it will be closed without knowing you and later on after closing they will just notify you that this card is closed.

I wonder why people are looking for rupay cards. I have seen rupay cards have problems with reward points even on regular spends.

Also, I had converted one of my credit cards to Rupay but didnt work at a single place for UPI. converted it back to Visa.

any updates or improvements?

Works for small payment upto 2000 effortlessly as no one wants all the payment to get reflected in bank account just like paying for cup of tea & ciggerrate etc.

Its better to be in bill statement.

Now, it's like normal scan & pay, i never felt it's not working through icici as i pay through it mostly

Which are your preferred ways of payments at shops and offline?
- Direct cash
- Debit card swipe
- Credit card swipe
- QR scan and pay via prepaid wallet (like payzapp or amazon pay)
- QR scan and pay via rupay credit card
- QR scan and pay from bank account

Any other methods?
