Lost 30k Accor Points, Got a Second Chance, Need Some Advice

Hi All,

I made a bit of a blunder and completely lost track of my Accor points’ expiry date due to some parent's health issues over the past few months. I wasn’t really able to focus or keep up with such things.

When I recently checked, I realized that all my points around 30,000 had expired on 8th August.
On 12th October, I reached out to Accor customer support, and they kindly agreed to reinstate all 30k points as a one-time exception, provided that:

“You make an eligible stay within the next 3 months in one of our hotels participating in the programme. We invite you to reply to this e-mail once your stay has been credited to your account, or to send us a copy of your paid invoice if your stay has not been credited within 7 days of your check-out date.”

I am based in Bangalore and was considering booking a 1-night stay at the cheapest available Accor hotel near hosur(around Rs 4,000) just to meet this condition.

Has anyone here gone through a similar situation? Will such a stay be sufficient for reinstatement, or is there anything specific I should be aware of?

Also, does anyone know if the 3-month deadline is counted from the expiry date (8th August) or from the date I received their email (12th October)? Would really appreciate if someone who has gone through a similar case could shed some light on this.

I plan to confirm everything with customer care again, just to have it clearly documented over email, but wanted to check with the community first for any real experiences or advice.
