March is best time for credit card approvals

Yes that’s the reason . SCB and HSBC don’t like too many enquiries on Cibil within less interval , also there are many PSU also which follows the same rule . When you apply online, the application gets straightway rejected and there is a Cibil enquiry wasted.

Don’t apply SCB or HSBC card with more than 4 enquiries in last 3 months , even if you apply , do it offline through branch , they might help you .
My SCB application was getting rejected every time since last 1 year , this January I visited their branch and applied and Ultimate was approved , got to know about this from an employee there
on what basis you applied ultimate and how was process can u elaborate?

U applied through online website , but closed it halfway , then I received a call from scb agent and I mentioned I want to apply for Ultimate , she agreed based on salary inputs but I mentioned I would like to apply through c2c , then I forwarded my card statement and salary details on mail from my official mail , followed by vkyc and then card was approved and dispatched

You applied in January I guess, before devaluation occurred.
I was thinking to apply at that time, as already having 5L+ limit on exisitng card.
But didn't apply due to non availability of useful vouchers like Amazon/flipkart which ultimately brings its return to 2.9 to 3% approx considering redemption fee.
As you are owning the card right now, do you feel it's worth it, considering other cards in your folio or are you going to close it soon?

I have already downgraded my ultimate card to easemytrip and received the joining charges against statement credit from SCB after few escalations
I was not able to extract value from ultimate as my spends were mostly done on other cards , also ultimate doesn’t have much useful redemption option.
