MobiKwik Denying KYC Removal – Illogical Responses & No Resolution!

Hello TechnoFino Members,

I am facing a serious issue with MobiKwik’s refusal to delink my KYC details (PAN & Aadhaar) from a permanently deleted account, and I need advice from those who have dealt with similar problems.

My Experience:

  • I previously had a MobiKwik account linked to 8XXXXXXXX3, where I had completed full KYC.
  • Due to personal reasons, I permanently deleted that account with the support of MobiKwik’s team.
  • Now, I created a new MobiKwik account with 7XXXXXXXX4 and tried to complete KYC, but I got an error:
"PAN is linked with another user"

  • When I contacted MobiKwik Support, they first asked me to log in to my old account to delink KYC – which is not possible, as the account is permanently closed.

  • After explaining this, they gave an even more absurd response:
"Contact your mobile operator and ask them to re-issue the old number so you can log in and delink KYC."

  • How can I get back an inactive mobile number just to access a deleted account? This is completely illogical and irresponsible from MobiKwik.
  • Even after escalating, they keep closing the complaint without addressing the actual issue.

Serious Concerns:

  • MobiKwik does not provide a proper process to remove KYC details once an account is closed.
  • They are making it unnecessarily difficult for customers to delink PAN & Aadhaar.

Seeking Advice:

  • Has anyone successfully removed KYC from a deleted MobiKwik account?
  • What other escalation options are available?
  • Is there any legal or regulatory action that can be taken against such negligence?
This is a serious issue, as users should have the right to remove their KYC details when they no longer use a financial service. MobiKwik’s approach is highly unprofessional and frustrating.

Looking forward to insights from the community.

I also have same problem but at the end I decided to delete mobikwik app.
Simply deleting the MobiKwik app won’t remove your PAN and Aadhaar from their system. Your KYC details are still linked to your old account, even if you stop using MobiKwik. Did you mean you decided to stop using MobiKwik permanently because of this issue? If so, I understand, but the real problem is that they are refusing to remove our KYC details even after account deletion, which is a serious concern.

There is no provision to remove kyc in mobikwik. N u can not change ur mobile no. They say u can remove kyc after login from old no. Bt dere is no such option
Only option is to use ur old no.
Exactly! If there is no option to remove KYC, then how does a consumer exercise their right to revoke consent for storing personal data? This goes against basic consumer rights. What is RBI doing about this? Aren't fintech companies like MobiKwik supposed to follow data protection and KYC regulations?

Yeah from privacy & data point of view you can fight with them legally.

I dont care so not bothering about it anymore.

I get your point, and I understand that not everyone wants to go through the hassle. But from a privacy and data security perspective, this is a serious issue. Companies like MobiKwik shouldn’t be allowed to hold our personal data forever without giving us an option to remove it. If they can’t even follow basic consumer rights, legal action might be the only way to make them accountable.

Same situation here.
I think a lot of people here have this issue and we discussed this earlier too.
It's frustrating that so many people are facing the same issue with MobiKwik. Has anyone actually raised this with the National Consumer Helpline or RBI Ombudsman? It seems like we need to take stronger action to get them to address this problem properly.

Complaint to RBIO. Also ask for compensation for harassment.
