I dont think it comes under any section. My employer provides it too. What they do is they show that they are reimbursing the bill to IT dept so you don't have to pay income tax on it.can you tell me how you get it...which section?

What they do is they show that they are reimbursing the bill to IT dept so you don't have to pay income tax on it.
How many people in india can afford this lifestyle...Irony is that 80 crore people are surviving on free govt ration i.e. they are below poverty line...Why? Cost of everything goes up each year and in fact every few months. Food has gone up so much in restaurants. Petrol is up. Doctors and lawyers charge 4x today compared to a few years earlier. Buying a shirt costs thousands now. People are happy to spend 1k to 5k on a family outing or buying a shirt or 500 on a pizza or Starbucks but cry when asked to pay even 300 for one full month of telecom with 5g service, a lot of data and unlimited calls. This mindset needs to change. Like everything else, it is reasonable to expect a hike in telecom tariff every year.
That's not the concern of the service providers. The government can offer a subsidy where they pay some amount for the very poor to enable them to access the service. Like for healthcare, the poor can go to Apollo or Max amd the government pays the bill. The hospital is not forced to make their services cheap. In addition, public sector telcos like BSNL can provide cheaper rates. Private players have to go by market conditions. How many people in india can afford this lifestyle...Irony is that 80 crore people are surviving on free govt ration i.e. they are below poverty line...
People are free to make do without a mobile phone. They pay for it because they see value in it and it enhances their quality of life, improves their income and helps in their business. They are luring us into a trap, which is why it's concerning. Does everyone buy expensive clothes? No. Does everyone spend ₹5,000 on dining? No. Does everyone drink Starbucks? No.
But in the case of recharges, Jio made everyone so addicted to it by offering it for free that now no one can live without it. First, they offered everything for free, and now they are continuously increasing the prices.
Not worth the hassle but thanks for the tip.Not

Is that even possible?Like for healthcare, the poor can go to Apollo or Max amd the government pays the bill.
Govt should have prevented predatory pricing as offered by one of the telecom company (promise of life time free service) to completely KILL the Competition. 10 Telecom Companies were SHUT down due to predatory pricing and after the competition is finished then we cannot give justification to increase the price...In this whole scenario, common men is fooled. That's not the concern of the service providers.
