Mobile recharge price hike by 25% - (just a hunch/speculation it not hiked yet or may never hiked as much as 25%)

Why? Cost of everything goes up each year and in fact every few months. Food has gone up so much in restaurants. Petrol is up. Doctors and lawyers charge 4x today compared to a few years earlier. Buying a shirt costs thousands now. People are happy to spend 1k to 5k on a family outing or buying a shirt or 500 on a pizza or Starbucks but cry when asked to pay even 300 for one full month of telecom with 5g service, a lot of data and unlimited calls. This mindset needs to change. Like everything else, it is reasonable to expect a hike in telecom tariff every year.
First, I am neutral to price hike.
I am still on vi while Airtel is providing 5g free since 1-2 years. Does not have a single Jio/BSNL in my home.

But questions for you-
How many Indians eat in restaurant on daily/weekly basis?
How many Indians have car?
How many Indian go into litigation?
How many Indians purchase shirt >1k ?
How many Indians go for vacations?

How many Starbucks India have?

The only line I agree with you is -
Like everything else, it is reasonable to expect a hike in telecom tariff every year.
Rest was just an illogical rant of an inexperienced upper middle class person, who is yet to discover real India.

Yes ,You are yet to discover real india. that's why talking shit on this open forum.
You must be talking about yourself on the above topics but before this just look into the reality. Go and spend some time between those who still can't even afford Smartphone in this era still due to poverty and yess according to you they are upper middle class person. There is a limit for hypocrisy.Sitting in a AC room doesn't allow you to speak on such topics where you have zero knowledge.
I have been with labour class who works in this harsh summer day which you can't even survive and living far from his family and always wait to connect with the familiy. But he has no smartphone to even look his children far from them. And even for a talktime he is little bit left in his pocket.
So please don't utter shit when you actually don't know a little. @Lobogris

Check the empanelment first dude, it's only CGHS. Things are different in news and on ground.

It doesn't work in many cases in govt. hospitals let alone private ones
Totally agree with you.
For me, the word free itself is the real problem. If you really want to support the ones who are not financially strong, offer low interest rate small loans, along with basic business workshops. Rather than giving free treatment from ayushman bharat invest money in govt hospitals.
Provide a solution for becoming independent rather than a solution to get dependent and indirect frauds. (Free ration - Huge fraud, ration vendors are loot. Ayushman Bharat - Hospitals are fooling people and claiming big amounts for small healthcare support, Jio - Free data to shut small telecom companies and now they have made us dependent on them).

Thanks for the tirade. Do you worry about that poor person when the food gets expensive? When LPG goes up? When electricity prices increase? When bus, metro and train fares go up? When clothing and medicine go up? Why is the worry only on telecom?

One can apply for Airtel Axis CC and get 25% off on Airtel and Airtel fiber recharges but the cashback only has a limit of Rs. 250 per month. Also, you get 10% on other bill payments and airtel payments after you exhaust the 250 cashback exclusive for airtel payments.

tell that to pappu who plans to waive off farmer loans....give 1L per annum to women...and others who promise free electricity and all that..

I am neither with Pappu nor with self claimed God.
People today try to choose one of them, instead of choosing try to raise question irrespective of who is sitting on the chair.
Don't be a blind follower, God has graced us with the ability to think.

Not sure bro, I think this is the most worthy plan considering if you can claim tax for it from your employer.
I don't claim it, but I still find this plan to be the most hassle free.

Are there any other cheaper prepaid/postpaid plans for limited data? I need more than 2GB per month. Maybe 10-12GB.

What if, we invest in Bharti Airtel/Reliance/Jio Financial.
Probably they will give more than 15% cagr for next few years.

Instead of giving them 3-4 years recharge amount today, we can see which kinds plans are coming in future and adopt them.
The more they loot people, they will make more profit and share price will go up.
Thus, we can minimize our loses , I think.

(Disclaimer: don't buy vi share to apply this trick, It may make more financial damage)
