My Failed LTF CC Collector Journey

mrworldwide

TF Buzz
31 CIBIL Hits | 6 LTF Cards | CIBIL Score: 780
Hey Fam!
Sharing my CC journey so far...

2023:
- 6 CIBIL hits from HDFC (checking offers for LTF & non-salaried, not aware hits were being made)

2024:
- 2 more hits from HDFC for same reason
- 1st credit card approved: Regalia Gold (after 6 months of salary)
- Multiple CC rejections (ICICI, Kotak, AU, etc.) due to:
- No credit history
- Incomplete address proof (PG stay, no rent agreement)
- Non-serviceable pin codes
- Some banks (IDFC, Yes Bank, BOB) caused multiple hits due to poor systems or misleading ads
- Declined HDFC Swiggy FYF offer

2025:
- Got approved: Amazon Pay ICICI, Amazon Coral Rupay, Axis Privilege (all LTF)
- 2 ongoing applications with BoB and PNB, seems like again BoB will be rejected due to address issue.

What shall I do now?
- Should I stop applying?
- Will the 31 hits have a permanent effect?
- Can I ask banks to remove hits, specially HDFC?

I feel like I should stop collecting cards 😔

Note - 3/4 hits might get removed as I raised the same with banks due technical/executive call reasons.

I think it will be 2023

If you have more than 10-12 CIBIL hits in the last 3 months, then you should stop. Ideally, 2-3 per month is okay in the long run.
- Will the 31 hits have a permanent effect?
No, as time goes by, hits will not matter. But it will hamper your current applications, stating high CIBIL Hits as the reason for rejections.

Yes

Same...Same... 😅 😅

Firstly, 31 hits for 6 cards is ideally a red flag, but this won’t impact your credit score much in the long run.

Good to hear that your first card from HDFC is RG and that you also got the Amazon Pay credit card.
Like others said, 2–3 applications per month are okay, but when you have too many enquiries in a short span, it will surely affect your Immediate future credit card approvals. That’s likely the reason you’re facing so many rejections.

My piece of advice:

It’s better to take a break for 3 months.
Don’t bother too much about the BOB and PNB applications—be happy if they get approved.
During this period, analyze your spending pattern and apply for a card that truly suits your needs after the break.
Try contacting HDFC and request them to remove some of the repeated enquiries—they might budge sometimes, so give it your best shot.

First, apply for cards that are useful to you in the long term. Once you have the essentials, you can slowly play the collection game.🙂
Apply for the useless LTF cards for occasional use after getting essential cards

Good Luck!
