I was looking to book an accor property for 3 days. On the accor app and website, I could see a splendid summer offer that reduced the room price by 45K, 130k to 85k. But that price had no option for booking with reward points. I went ahead and booked that price and chose to pay at hotel. On enquiring with the customer care and Reservation desk at the hotel, they said that paying by points is not allowed at hotel if I booked at that rate.
After 2 days, ie yesterday, I cancelled that booking and called the reservation desk of the hotel again and asked them to book the same room for me which I can pay via points. I mentioned about an offer showing 85k INR price, and asked if I can pay via points. She said yes.
So I asked for their mail ID and sent her the booking details and asked for a booking confirmation along with a confirmation that they'll accept my points for the room booking. Got an affirmative answer from them.
Is there any chance of them not honouring it or not accepting the points when I check out/check in ? I have a mail from the property accepting that they'll accept points for this booking at this price (subjected to FX rate that time)
Anyone has past experience similar to this?
