Need urgent help chargeback denied by ICICI bank against Amazon

P

People are buying galaxy s24 ultra, 15 pro max, macbook pro & many gadgets online. My colleague bought Sony TV worth 3 L during Diwali online through credit card.

Offline & online, both have their advantages & disadvantages. Offline is preferable if desired product is available with nearly same pricing as on various online platforms. If not, people will look for products in online platform.

Plus now a days credit card enthusiasts people prefer to buy even high end things online to use coupons or get cashbacks from credit/debit cards.
Offline is great as it gives a feel of touch
Online we just can't see what iw advertised
I had a issue with homeshop18
Yeah that tv shopping days 😁
I bought spice xlife415 at 1999 that time
And got some random device
Complaint- replaced- got right device but charger was not there -again replaced
Got phone with right charger-but invoice was not there -
At last demanded refund-

They sent me cheque through speed post
Alongwith delievery fee
And ₹500 voucher to be used on next shopping
With no min order value
I used that voucher on bedsheet set of 999
That was the time of 2015-16

Amajon was generous in refunds in my case

I bought a smart watch (hn wahi 500 wali)
Because meri school friend ne kaha tha ki watch acchi lagegi
And got Khali dabba

Raised complaint
Delivery boy was not taking back dabba
Then next time they raised pickup without verification

And within 2 hours got refund

The packaging photo OP shared has prime sticker on it. All prime shipments are dispatched from Amazon warehouse and packaging is done in front of cameras. 222K shipment is not packaged like that. One possible option is box swap post dispatch.
Even 3rd party seller having it... my friend was prime seller on Amazon... he is having prime taps n packaging essentials... I was asking seller name he had ordered with...

Between the years 2019 and 2022, I engaged in resale of Amazon products. I would buy products that were very cheap in bulk, identify relevant shops to increase the price slightly, and then supply them. This endeavor yielded a profit of 5 lakhs per year, along with receiving 3-10k cashback on cards per month (which has not been blocked yet).

Each year, I purchased products worth 45 lakhs. During this time, I encountered various instances of fraud on platforms like Amazon and Flipkart. For example, once I purchased mosquito repellent "Goodnight" in bulk, but instead of receiving the actual product, I got refills filled with water. Upon raising an instant request, the amount was refunded, but the products were not collected.

In another case, when I bought 1kg packets of tea powder, some were found to be expired. After informing the platform, I was asked about the number of expired packets, and once confirmed, the refund was processed without requiring detailed proofs.

There have been several such incidents that I have noticed. Based on my experience, I find it unlikely for these platforms to reject claims without proper evidence.

Hi, The unboxing was done by friend and he opened it that way only and when I reached out to Amazon, they asked me to upload image from the front side of the box and on a blank paper to write my name. I have alreayd contacted my lawyer and will file the case on consumer forum by the end of next week.
Please update us on the status of your consumer forum case.

They are doing billion dollar business. They know when you are telling the truth and when you are not 🙂

delivery guy/girl/them has been returning orders left and right without attempting.

customer care be high on govt authorizsed bhang as they are helpless.

can a charge-back against amzn prime can be raised for non delivery ?

1st thing prime purchase date is very - will it even allow for chargeback ?

I should not tell you this as an insider but the backside unboxing video with older front side already opened is a red flag. You could have just told them you didn't record the unboxing. If the box was not tampered with then check the weight mentioned on the tracking label and in the bill/invoice and the weight of the product mentioned both in the Amazon page and in the brand's page and show them your proof.

Amazon is actually better than Flipkart when it comes to these issues. They are good with physical goods but bad with digital goods and services.

Also banks should not reject chargeback without strong evidence from merchant. So, they must have sent a copy of proof from the merchant's side. Check that and compare with your proof. If they didn't then ask your bank to send a copy of the merchant's rebuttal letter along with any proof. If merchant didn't provide any proof then escalate to level 2 and then to arbitration. Then to NCH and RBI.

Update: As per your latest tweet, Yeah, RBI doesn't have any guidelines for chargeback since it's a Network process. Visa/RuPay and all others have one. Search Visa chargeback guidelines and you'll find a PDF that is targeted towards merchants. Attach that with your RBI complaint. Bank might raise a wrong chargeback which might get rejected by the merchant or acquiring bank. So, ask your bank to provide all the details related to your chargeback and cross verify with the guidelines and post it to RBI. Then finally complain both entities TO NCH and ED.

From what I can see, your issue could be genuine. Did the Amazon team asked for any ID proof? Did you gave them? That could be red flag. DM if you have any questions.

Yes, you can. But if it's Amazon then their customer care will help you as much as possible as long as you're not flagged in their system.
