New Cashback SBI card launched!

I am an old SBI Cards customer having SBI Silver and More card for more than 6-7 years. In this time never applied for any new card from SBI. I've been following the SBI Cashback threads on and off and thought it may be useful to have for some family purchases (the annual fee isn't so much a deterrent if some value is still realized in a year's time) and hence went ahead for application last night.

Firstly the Sprint website is blazingly good and fast. They took my basic details and Aadhar verification and did a photo check for KYC which also went through. All this in a span of 10mins in the application. The address was verified quickly and in the next 1 minute I got the message of the card on the screen (I was super surprised) and an ability to enable online transactions. I went ahead and also used the card for two transactions post the approval (first time in my experience that a CC application has got approved in 10 mins and I could even use the card immediately)

I got a limit of 1.2 lakhs with the initial application which I increased it today morning by calling the customer care by transferring some limit from my existing Silver and More card. (may end up even closing the Silver card if usage on the CB card increases over next few months). The representative mentioned the physical card should come at home in the next 7-8 days.

Few points that I think worked very well for this application.

1. No discrepancy in the current address and address being updated in Aadhar - I really learnt this the hard way in my Magnus and Burgundy applications which have given me endless grief. Because at the time of my Axis applications, my current address was different in Aadhar. No amount of physical eKYC helped and it just kept getting postponed.

2. CIBIL has been consistently above 800 for many years (despite some BNPLs in between which I've now mostly closed). No missed payments or even partial payments EVER in the last 20+ years of holding multiple credit cards. The importance of this fact cannot be overemphasized as it helps in times like these.

3. Maybe holding an existing SBI Credit Card helped (not absolutely sure of that)

One thing wanted to say that CIBIL hard hits are not a real determinant. From Sep to Dec, I've had 5 hits to CIBIL (two from Axis because Magnus was rejected first time due to documents mismatch because of address issue) and all cards have been approved. I just happened to check the CIBIL score and it is not changed much.

Hopefully I can use this card to its good potential. Thanks

it’s not showing under last payment received for me. It’s only showing the last payment I actually paid for my card there.

Wait, I’m a little confused. After bill generation, my final bill amount would be the amount directly displayed under current outstanding, or will my final bill amount be (Current Outstanding amount - Card Cashback summary)?
Just sharing what I have been doing for many years in other cards. Always pay full statement outstanding irrespective of any credits in the card in the interim. Whatever be the credits will definitely get adjusted in next cycle. Your outstanding for stmt+1 will definitely reflect that.

Never get into too much analysis paralysis as relationship with bank and CIBIL is for many years. Only keep a broad track if the credits / rewards are being credited properly (that also not too frequently). Has helped a lot.

The rules have recently changed a bit. See point 5 for refunds, etc

Same here
Anyways we can adjust with current month spending

Send an email to Nodalofficer@sbicard.com address. Write all information including application number. Ask them to reconsider your cashback card application.
I was unlucky with this practice. I went upto SBI principal nodal but nothing changed. I am having good number of super premium & premium cards with decent credit limit. Our data is being shared by SBI Cards to outsource agencies once we apply online. Afterwards anonymous calls start by SBI agents and will give you your private details which v give for online application. Due to so called SBI buggers (agents) my card was applied multiple times and the application was rejected.

I am sharing my experience of applying sbi cashback card i applied on 6th dec and done kyc on 7th dec and today my card got approved with limit 196000 i am holding Simplyclick with limit 224000 and paytm sbi with limit 102000.

1% only. That too having some process. Fees. Just we get 1 month interest free period & target- milestone spends

Oh I was thinking to buy from gyftr now but worried after reading above comments.
Actually, I purchased 18k Amazon Gift card this month from 1st dec using SBI cashback card on Amazon only.
Today I need more to purchase but I saw I lost option to pay via any credit cards. Only Debit/UPI is available.
Did I cross the limit of purchasing gift cards using cashback card on Amazon?
I am buying because it assures 5% cashback for all my bill/insurance payments using Amazon pay balance.
Will I get option to buy Amazon Gift card using SBI Cashback card again on Amazon?

For sure again next month you can buy GC in amazon using cc
They have some user specific limits like varies from 10k to 20k per month buying gv via cc post which we won’t see cc option till next month reset

buy gift card from gyftr only if don't have any use of card for next few days.. in worst case it may take upto a week
also if you think you are overusing the card for cashback then don't try at gyftr at it may lead to permanent block in worst case..

you can try with different amazon account as account has limit for giftcard purchase via cc

You need to use different card as well. I tried using same card in different accounts but after only 1 transaction in the 2nd account i lost access to CC payment in both the accounts. I didn't even saved the card
Yes. I tried in different Amazon account but did not get credit card payment option. It looks like limit is per card irrespective of any number of Amazon account used by that card to purchase gift card.
