Their approval rate has been good recently.
(HSBC give card to only salaried folks, if no account with them)

do they ask for salary slip/ income doc? and address proof?

I observed the same in the mail too, but what's more interesting than the design change is that it states Visa Signature. Earlier the HSBC Platinum was a Visa Platinum card.
