They will close try multiple times connecting the cc if one is not doing it.
Yes, it 3rd time cc responded positively. But my statement just generated and in linked emis I can't see the transaction. Some clarity is awaited.

Great, wait for few days you will get details of cancellation.
I wonder whether paying complete outstanding amount just like SBI right after transaction would help in Hdfc's case too. As it is not straight forward anymore with HDFC.

I did pay after statement generation and no charges levied but its safe to pay full next day after cancelation.

That's not what I meant. If you whole amount right after doing transaction i.e., you clear your outstanding bill, then in SBI card, your transaction fails to get converted into EMI.

In SBI it works but HDFC someone needs to try it not sure if it will fail like SBI.

Fir SBI, this trick is not working any more
I recently bought mobile on NCEMI and put balance in -900, but yet emi convrted, had to call Customer care to cancel it, and got charged some 200+ rupee, now left with -600 something amount in it.
Card was sbi elite

SBI is worse in that case.

My transaction did not converted to emi due to insufficient outstanding balance 4 days ago.

What about Amex?
Bought an item with no-cost EMI and then going to cancel the emi.
Any charges?

Dont think so. You can ask their customer care. I've never done it. Was considering once so checked with them.
