Non BBPS payments via 3rd party apps to be stopped by RBI forcing all banks to register as BBPS billers

RBI has directed all CC payments to be made using BBPS only.

3rd party apps to stop non bbps card payments from 1st July onwards.

Banks who are not registered as a BBPS biller have been given time till 30th June but 90 days extension has been sought from RBI.

Yes you can wait for last 3 days, atmost.

I am now doubting the integrity of the news as so far
1) there is no official statement from rbi on this
2) no third party payment app have said anything on this
3) no banks have intimated their customers about this officially because many people today pay their bills through these apps and websites and its their duty to update their customers that they will not be able to pay their bills from such apps from 1st July and should make them aware of other methods of payment

Only thing that makes me think that it might be true is that 10 banks have applied for BBPS but it maybe because RBI would have silently told them that please do that asap and process all the payments through bbps only without letting the customers face any difficulty as most of the apps are already integrated with bbps.

Banks already mentions acceptable channels for cc payments on monthly statements. They don't need to notify customers about this.

Amex is working through HDFC billpay. I just tried a test payment of Rs 400 some time back and it went through.

i paid axis cc bill on hdfc billpay around 2am.The amount is not credited yet.

I generally avoid early morning hours. I paid Axis bill twice today morning after 8 AM and it got paid instantly.

I dont have platinum. Millenia dc cashback if any comes after 3 months. Will surely update if i remember.
