One Card offers upgrade from FD to unsecured card

I have got an offer in the OneCard app to upgrade to unsecured card. I had FD of 10k. Now they are giving limit of 3.6L and processing refund of FD.



Earlier, I had SBM bank Visa card. Now it is offered in Mastercard CSB bank. I had to complete KYC again.

Were you a previous One Card customer & had closed your card or trying to apply with your secondary number than the one already registered with one card ?

Aha, finally the cat is out of the bag! Hence not everyone holding their fd card will be converted to an unsecure card.

I guess. One card in their right sense can't be dishing out unsecure cards to people with terrible credit, defaults etc!

Hence you're seeing this. You have to use the number you've used during the initial registration.
They don't allow any application with a second number for the same pan.

Finally received the offer, but when trying to apply it is throwing a KYC error, don’t know how to solve it.

From which Bank you are getting the offer? Is your Pincode within 700001-700100 range?

Do we need same address as before? Can we change communication address?

You will get option to change once but make sure it matches id proof

It was indian bank for me. Although it is not letting me apply as there is kyc error. Yes my pincode is within that range.

I see this on my when I log in with my primary number on the one card app, after I closed my account with them in Dec '23 .. It's strange that you are seeing this, especially since you had no previous card with them that you closed! Did you contact them on Twitter?

Contacting them is your best option. I guess it also could be due to a backend glitch especially with all the transition that is happening at their end.

This means that the sole remaining SBM credit card in India would be the UNI NX WAVE.

Recently Gild, Credilio, Magnet these fd based cc's also launched by SBM bank. And many card application processing day by day for these too ..

- Fixed deposit linked: ₹12K


2. **Usage Pattern**:

- My spending includes a mix of e-commerce, bills, fuel, and point-of-sale (POS) transactions. High utilization noted, with ₹12K limit and expenditure crossing ₹50K monthly.


3. **Customer Interaction**:

- Received three calls from the OneCard team before proceeding with the upgrade.


4. **App Navigation**:

- Post the third call, the app's home page indicated an upgrade option, but this was not found in the menu.


5. **Upgrade Process**:

- The unsecured limit and card details were displayed.

- Required to click through the prompts, beginning with Aadhar OTP authentication.

- Chose the card delivery address.

- FD amount to be credited back was stated.

- Acknowledged the declaration of no issuance charges for the metal card.

- Other necessary information was presented.


6. **Completion**:

- On concluding the steps, the app logged out automatically, necessitating reauthentication.


7. **Post-Upgrade**:

- After a 24-hour interval, accessing the app only allowed me to track the new card's issuance, without going deeper into the app's other features.


After 48 hours:::

Once the new account is updated in the app, scan the barcode on the card delivery package to activate it.

Bhai uske saath CIBIL main ek aur open credit card account bhi milega...

No one with good credit or or access to unsecured credit should open these accounts, IMO!
