Positive experience with Millenia to DCB upgrade under Alumni offer

Long time lurker on the forum... Just wanted to share my DCB upgrade process.

Some days back I got a call from HDFC for a pre approved LTF Regalia card. Like it has been mentioned before, instead I got a Millenia and didn't realize it was an agent who gave me the call and not direct employee. However, I was OK with it as it was processed as LTF and used it a few times on Amazon to get 5% cashback.

Around the same time, I started following this forum and got to know about LTF DCB offer for alumni of certain institutions. I saw my institute in the list and of course got interested in a premium card and that too LTF.

So this is how process went.
Day 1: email to grievance redressal asking for upgrade
Day 3: response asking me to confirm over email that I am ok with upgrade and reward points conversation ratio of 1:1. I reply same back confirming same day
Day 5: response saying need to share institute graduation certificate. Reply back same day.
Day 6: response with upgrade accepted.
Next 2-3 days received the new LTF DCB card.

Essentially I got an almost one month old Millenia upgraded to DCB. No, forms couriering to Chennai, no sharing itr or salary slips or anything like that. Just 3 emails. I didn't believe how smooth it went.

Just want to thank the forum and everyone here for building such a wonderful community.

What was your credit limit in the Millennia card?

How come they upgrade to DCB with 1L credit limit,My friend mailed yesterday and got reply for DCP only (His limit was 75k).
Would you mind sharing your institute name ?
Didn't use it for long so don't remember exactly but it was definitely less than 1L. In DCB got 5L. I believe that's the minimum.

Was there a CIBIL hit ?
I just checked. There's a hit from HDFC with product type "Other" and not "credit card". I am not sure why the difference.
I guess IIT so that's why they were more keen to approve

But DCB losing it's value due to so many "partnered institutes"
I guess everything goes through devaluations at some point and then we move to the next big thing.
My only gripe currently with DCB is too low daily smartbuy limit. If booking an hotel, spends above ~8k won't get 10x - which is too low for any hotel bookings. And also transaction charges on apay gift card purchase.

Did they ask for ITR/salary slips?

WOW

HDFC is unbelievable , I had Millennia with 99k and I applied for DCB with LE request under alumni.
they offered only DCP. and that too with same 99k limit , even though I shared them salary slip they straight away denied LE saying internal policies.
