Pro Tips-

Simple way to make Any basic to mid range SBI card LTF is to "Just raise a closure of card account request through Sbi card app .After few hours you will receive a call to ask a reason for cancellation ,there tell them Either make it Life time free or cancel the card.They will make your Card LTF.Done on my both sbi card and now both are LTF.Service request to make your card LTF is taken as PCT id is to be changed.You can check in service request tracking menu.

Caution:-If you holding multiple cards of SBI then kindly do this process at one card at a time only.Do on other card after at least month. If at any point SBI Card is not agreeing on LTF and offering you Annual Fee waivers only then Accept Fee waivers at that moment and Apply the same trick Again after 1 or 2 months for LTF.
IF ANYONE HAVING ANY SPECEFIC CONCERN THEN DO DM.

Edit 1-If afterall anyone missed the call from retention team then they can simply call customer care and there simply tell them to connect/transfer you call to retention team as i want to discuss regarding my card closure request.They will connect you to their retention team and now there you can project the above trick to get your card LTF ..


Edit 2(09 July 2023)-Even people have made sbi cards having fee upto 1499 LTF and even higher varriant cards you will get equivalent reward points or miles or annual fee waiver in place of LTF.

Edit 3(15 October 2023)- Even people have made their SBI cashback credit card LTF by their skill of negotiation.

Edit 4-Now a days SBI Cards sometime,closing the card without calling so suggest now dont place request through app by self .Call customer care directly and ask them for LTF/fee waivers or to transfer the call to retention team for doing the same.

The only fear I have in me is as soon as they make mine LTF, they will devalue the card and the LTF status will no longer be useful since it also never works in any sale!

I think there are people in this forum who got converted their SBI Cashback card as LTF along with SBI SimplyClick or SimplySave as LTF.

I hold SBI Credit card for 20 years. The card name is Gold and it is LTF. I got SBI Cashback two years before and the annual spend is >4 lakh. Requested for LTF thrice but denied

It's very hard to convert axis cards to LTF(Specially cashback series card like Axis Flipkart, Ace, Airtel).
They will deny everytime you request

🪓 is a different beast..they thrive on JF and AF.. it is hard to convert a card that would normally be issued as a paid card to ltf.. no such tricks work on thse cards...

Instead, you can try a trick of asking for closure and get some Edge Rewards points as a retention offer on most of the low to mid level paid cards..

I hold SBI CASHBACK credit card from Oct 2022. Had spent approx 2.5 lakhs per year and easily reached annual fee waiver criteria. But this year just before annual charge date, thought to try for LTF conversion.
On 7th October, sent a mail to customer service head mail id, requesting for LTF conversion with details of long relationship and good spends per year.
On 10th October, received a mail regarding reconsidering my decision of card closer request which obviously I didn't made.
On same day, received another email confirming the request for LTF conversion.
Finally,
On 16th October, Received a mail confirming that LTF conversion is successful.
I didn't thought things will go that smooth especially with SBI.

Axis Neo is a LTF card only. It doesn't charge any AMC.

Card number remains same, only cvv and expiry is changed.
