Rarely known info about HDFC DCB hack on Swiggy

So I held the infamous HDFC DCB last year (this is before the devaluation) and once had a small function at my house so made a huge order on Swiggy, it was anyways a weekend(=2X) and Swiggy was a 10X partner in those days for DCB so the no brainer for me was to just stick out my DCB on Swiggy at checkout, unfortunately ordered from the wrong branch and realised luckily within the 60 sec cancellation window, eventually order was cancelled, but to my surprise instead of getting a reversal of the original transaction, got a payment to my DCB card. This was great since yield was 1X (Normal spends) + 9X (Swiggy partner) + 1X (Weekend dining) for free and the other parallel benefits of reaching monthly/yearly milestones are something I don't even account for.

Of course I stopped all this when Diners stopped all 10X partners and also removed the weekend dining offer since for the 1X spend this kind of MS isn't really worth it. Also I ended up martyring two of my Swiggy accounts due to excessive cancellation and Swiggy did this much much later after I stopped doing it (also had some balance in both of the accounts) but its fair I think since I got my benefit out of it, so a big disclaimer if you do try so on your DCB kindly be aware of the risks since Swiggy will permanently close your account without any hearing.

So why am I posting this now is because I just tried this last month and it still worked. Purely informational post, don't think of setting shop lol but if you do it once in a while still tread with caution.

So you're saying that in Swiggy Cancle, instead of showing as a refund, it shows as a payment credited to DCB card?

Hmm, thats weird I thought this was a DCB specific bug. Most of the order values I did were 5K+
so I received a proper refund and not money credit so reward points were lapsed and not retained but I'd try again tomorrow.

Do they provide 60 seconds window for every order?

I have just attached a snapshot in the original post as you can see, within seconds the payment hit the card account.

Regd. the cancellation, they usually mention the terms on checkout

Word of advice don't do this on your primary account

Ohh damn!
Your trick has originated a much bigger trick for Axis cards in my mind.

Thanks a ton for sharing this. Well appreciated. 😇

you are lucky it got credited via imps. Will try Tomorrow with some good amount. Hope I get a 60 second window or else I'm doomed
once I placed the order and got an imp call which I picked up and whilst doing this, lost the 60 sec window, the amount of phone calls I had to make to get this cancelled was unimaginable, too much anxiety, what am I going to do with so much biryani lol, but in the end I convinced the Swiggy support and restaurant both and things ended up in my favour

lmao 😂
see the refund that ai recieved was from swiggy itself.

Hmm, if you check my snapshot it says Bangalore, so very likely its a different payment processor/gateway yours is Gurgaon one, and is actually how it should be, the sale should be reversed. But in my case there's no scope for sale to be reversed since it was reversed in the form of a payment. If I go and open a dispute, Swiggy will share some a RRN (refund reference number) saying the transaction was refunded already

I'll try changing the city and then order maybe it works.

All Swiggy orders get that window. Make sure you cancel with in the time frame. But haven’t the accelerated rewards on Swiggy with DCB been discontinued?
