Regalia to Infinia upgrade: FYF possible?

I have a Regalia with 8L limit (LTF). Issued 5 months ago, total spending would be about 5L+.

I wanted to upgrade to Infinia, but obviously got some pushback saying at least 6 billing cycles should be completed on Regalia. Regardless, I asked them to still try for it, or at least a limit increase (citing total 30L credit limit I have from ICICI).

They are saying Infinia would be chargeable from day 1. I was expecting it to be FYF since it's an upgrade. Is that not the norm?

Chargeable Infinia is still so much better than even LTF Regalia considering you're getting that many points (excluding GST) whose value is double that of Regalia

I absolutely agree, and in hindsight, it was a mistake for me to go for regalia 5 months ago. (1% of the 5L that I have spent on regalia this far would have covered the GST of Infinia).

Just asking since I thought FYF is the norm for upgrades.

As per my today's conversation with my Imperia RM. She told last year lot of people where upgraded not the rules are strict. Net salary requirement is 2.25L or if you are Imperia customer then Regalia with at least 8L limit can be tried for upgradation based on spend (not 100% promised though).

What sucks about the salary requirement is they are not very consistent. Somebody says 2.25, some say 2.8. Even with that nobody is really sure if RSU can be counted in salary. I've even got differing info on whether this salary is pre or post tax.

I didn't specifically ask about the salary requirement this time, but RM wants to go the salary route, I'll update how that works out for me.

Yup I would also post on the CL basis progress. Also I want to highlight that I live in a Tier 2/3 city so rules can be slightly relaxed here as there wont be too much people even crossing 2 lakhs per month.

I have gotten infinia FYF from regalia paid.. It is possible.. Depends on your income, credit limit and past spends as well as NRV with HDFC
